How To Keep Yourself Sane When You’re Stuck Inside All Day

Staying in is the new going out, whether we like it or not. Just because social distancing has us trapped in the house all day doesn’t mean that we have to banish all the fun. From doing a cool puzzle to streaming Disney + all day (which let’s be honest, we were going to do that anyway), we have searched high and low for the best things to do to keep yourself sane when your stuck inside all day. Grab your favorite nail polish and your gardening gloves because this quarantine has us feeling creative AF.

Here is how to keep yourself sane when you are stuck inside all day.

Exercise Outside

Whether you are a devoted yogi or a cardio junkie, exercising outside can be the perfect opportunity to spend some time in the sun. Being outdoors will improve your mood, and it can significantly help with feeling like you’ve been trapped indoors all day. Pull out your yoga mat because it’s time to practice that yoga pose you’ve been working so hard to master- Namaste.

Do A Puzzle

Bust out the nostalgia because adult puzzles are all the rage right now – yes, really. From Game of Thrones to cheap jigsaw puzzles for adults who love their margaritas, the possibilities are practically endless. Puzzles are a great way to keep yourself sane during the lockdown, and you and your loved ones will have a great time putting them together.

Have A Spa day

Pull out your favorite nail color because your paws and claws need some TLC. A trip to the salon might be off the table right now, but that doesn’t mean you have to compromise your nails looking pretty AF. From bossy pinks to bold yellows, your nails should scream spring. Indulge in a face mask-or two- while you wait for them to dry. After your done, take a nap or have your partner give you a massage with some heated oil. We all deserve to have some R&R, especially during these times. Honestly- I can’t think of a better way to keep yourself sane while you’re stuck at home.

Watch Disney Movies

Whether you have a membership to Disney+ or you already own every single one of them on DVD, there is never a wrong time to indulge in a healthy binge of Disney movies. From Aladdin soaring the sky with Aladdin to dancing with belle in beauty and the beast, Disney is our go-to stuck at home remedy. There will be laughs, tears (lion king, talking to you), and singing. Lots of singing. So grab some popcorn and cuddle up because you are in for a wild carpet ride.

Bake

There’s nothing better than filling your house with the smell of baked goods. Being stuck at home is a great excuse to spend your day chowing down on some seriously great sprinkle-covered cupcakes. Speaking of sprinkles, spice things up and get creative when you bake. From fabulous flamingo toppers to dollops of frosting, you really can’t go wrong. P.S. what time should we come over?- kidding!

Have A Picnic

Nothing brings the family together like a good old-fashioned picnic. Gather your housemates and make lunch or dinner for this elaborate affair. Decorate a space unlike the rest of your home or even throw your chic picnic outdoors on your patio or in your backyard. Whether you decide to have a chic tea party or gauge down endless amounts of junk food, Chances are your housemates will love the idea, and it’s an excellent way for you all to stay sane while we are trapped inside. Bon appetite!

Have A Cocktail Party

Being stuck at home stops us from visiting our favorite bar or pub, which totally sucks-But it doesn’t have to! Round up your favorite drink ingredients and have a cocktail party of your own. Shake things up and try something new or mix your go-to cocktail. Having a fun and glam night with the ones you’re stuck at home with is a great way to spend your time. Cheers!

Have Sex

Turn up the heat while having some fun in the bedroom. Not only is it a great work out – let’s burn some quarantine calories – but it is also a great and pleasurable way to spend your time when you’re stuck at home. Grab your partner and take this time to try out those new positions you’ve being dying to. Not all things about being stuck at home are bad, and they can even enhance your “O” game. Ooh-la-la.

Start A Garden

If you’ve always wanted to grow your food, then the time is now. If you basically kill anything that you touch, don’t fret because there’s still hope for those of us who lack a green thumb. Buy an Aerogarden on Amazon where you can grow veggies such as tomatoes lettuce kale and a variety of herbs. The best part? It does all the hard work, and you get to reap all of the benefits. PSA: Overalls and hunter boots optional.

Host A Selfie Shoot

It’s time to step up your selfie game and what better excuse to do so than being trapped inside the house. With all this time on your hands, you have complete freedom to style your hair and makeup and choose the best selfie outfits in your closet. Have fun with it! Switch up the backgrounds or take a walk around the neighborhood and snap some gram-worthy pics. No matter where you decide to go, we know that you will look #fabulous.
