How To Have A Happy Thanksgiving Even In 2020

Having a happy Thanksgiving in the year 2020 might seem impossible due to everything gone wrong this year. But focusing on a few critical elements of this holiday will make it a happier celebration than the rest of the year. The year 2020 has been rough on all of us, but finding ways to make the end of the year and holiday season not as bad as the rest of the year is significant. We want to have something good to look back on in 2020, so let’s start with the holidays! Thanksgiving is approaching faster than ever, as 2020 is flying by, so having the right mindset ahead of time is essential. 2020 has brought a lot of chaos, heartbreak, and stress to so many of us. Focus on how you can make the rest of the year and Thanksgiving a happy time for those around you and yourself. Focus on having a happy Thanksgiving instead of all of the bad that 2020 has brought us. Remember to cherish the rest of the year and look towards ending it on a better note.

Focus On Your Family Members

The holiday season is an excellent time of the year to focus on what really matters, your family. Take some time away from all the chaos that 2020 has brought us, quarantine ahead of time, and spend this Thanksgiving with your family. Do whatever is necessary to ensure that you will be able to all be together on this holiday during this year’s craziness. Chances are, you might not get to see everyone you are hoping to or might typically see. So take advantage of technology and Facetime with your loved ones on this holiday. Play games, cook some food, craft, drink, and celebrate the ones that can be with you this Thanksgiving. We know that the holiday season can be difficult for those of us who have lost family members, so cherish the ones that are still with you on this special day.

Try Out A New Side Dish

If cooking is something you love to do, try out a new recipe for Thanksgiving this year. It will give you something to look forward to and a great way to lift the spirits and make it a happy Thanksgiving. If you are concerned about ruining your favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal, try out a side dish that is unique to Thanksgiving. Try and find something that goes well with the rest of the meal, but a new item you might not usually have on Thanksgiving. This way, you won’t have to worry about being stressed and messing up something you look forward to on Thanksgiving. Having a happy Thanksgiving this year might seem hard for some people, so focus on the positive things you have right now!

Surround Yourself With Friends

For some of us, seeing family is not necessarily a positive experience or one that we can do. Whether you have lost family members recently, you might not have a good relationship with them. You just can’t travel to see them this year. It can be a really rough day if you do not have family around. Surround yourself with friends and even consider hosting a Friendsgiving this year so that the holidays will be a happy memory for you and your friends. Sometimes, spending holidays with friends’ families can make for great memories and a way to make it a happy Thanksgiving. Remember that this holiday is partially about reminding ourselves of who and what we are thankful for. If for you that is a solid group of friends, spend the holiday with them. Thanksgiving can be made into a great holiday to cherish the ones we love and focus on the positive things in life.
