How To Guarantee You’ll Have The Best Autumn

Autumn has arrived (and maybe sooner than you expected). It’s hard to say goodbye to the long days of summer, but autumn doesn’t have to be a bad season.

Here are some little things you can do to make this autumn a good one.

Make a List

What are you hoping to accomplish his fall? Is there anything you’ve been wanting to do that you’ve put off? Why not start today? Make a list of things that you need to do and even add some things from your bucket list and put it somewhere you won’t forget. Put a sticker on everything you accomplish and by the end of the autumn, you’ll feel ready to take on the winter.

Similarly, getting a journal or a daily calendar can help with this too. It’s good to have things to look forward to.

Marie Kondo Your Life

Sure, you’ve heard of spring cleaning, but why do you have to wait until then? The fall still represents a new season, and for students, it represents the beginning of a whole new year. Pack up your summer clothes (leaving a few light things in case there’s a heatwave), get rid of anything lingering in your closet that you know you won’t wear again.

Keep stock of what you have and what you need more of before you end up with twenty sweaters and no cold-weather coats.

Do you have fall boots (and not just fashion boots)? A raincoat? An umbrella?

But this is for more than just clothes. Replenish your pens and pencils, get rid of old notes you’ll never touch again. When your space is clean and fresh you’ll be able to be your best self.

Plan Fun Weekends

When was the last time you went to a concert or did something that wasn’t somehow attached to school? It’s important for your own mental wellness that you find a way to de-stress and unwind a little.

Aside from some of the usual fall things people like to do, why not pick up an indoor hobby or two? Why not finally go visit that roller-skating rink you’ve had your eye on (or haven’t been since you were a child). Why not take a pottery class or go to one of those wine-and-paint nights (if you’re of age, ahem). Your fall doesn’t have to be cookie-cutter or boring, it is what you make it.

…that being said, there’s nothing wrong with just hurtling yourself face-first into a giant pile of leaves. Embrace the aesthetic if you want to, nobody will blame you for wanting to take the time to drive out to a pumpkin patch or go apple-picking with a couple of your closest friends. Hell, get some of those glittery fake fall decorations from Michaels while you’re at it. Live your best life.

Chances are your roommates or school friends are dying for someone else to do this stuff with, too. Why not ask around?

Lattes For Days

As fall comes at you in full swing, chances are you’re gonna be drinking a lot of caffeine. I understand it’s a necessity. If you think your overall expenses might outweigh a hundred+ dollars, there are some relatively cheap latte machines on Amazon… but even if you don’t, there’s nothing wrong with rewarding yourself here and there, by getting out and sipping on that sweet, sweet foam.

There are also instant lattes you can make in your dorm with just a little hot water if you want. Are they perfect? Maybe not, but they’ll save you a little money and be there for you when the cafes are closed.
