We all go through those moments when we feel completely unmotivated. This slump can be hard to get out of, especially when you have deadlines to meet. Try out these tips to get back on top of your list of things to do!
I find that making lists of the things you have to do. This does not just mean work and studying, this can include going to the supermarket or washing your hair. Make a list, on paper, not your phone, and then cross off the things you have done as you go. Seeing what you have left to do and the things you have done, you will feel as though you have completed a lot and will encourage you to be productive. This will make sure that you are no longer in a slump.
If you are feeling in a slump which is resulting in zero motivation, then plan out your days. Write out just a few small things that you have to get done for each day. This will prepare you so that you are aware of what exactly you have to get done on which days. This will also make your lazy time feel as though you deserve, which will make you appreciate it much more! You will feel more motivated to get your chores or work done faster as well, this will increase your productivity. Delegating your days will give your day structure and will also help to put yourself into a routine.
Get moving out of the house! Go for a walk, or even better go to the gym. Start sweating, release those endorphins. You will feel super happy and productive, if you make a habit of every day moving your body in some way, you will feel all around more happy and productive. You will no longer be in a slump. You will have an itch to get things done after you have got yourself moving. Getting outside of your room or your house can help you feel less lazy, it is also a really good opportunity to clear your head, get some fresh air, and start thinking about the things you have to do.
Set a bedtime and a wake-up alarm. If you slump has been going on for days now, try this one out, it may be slightly painful, especially the wake-up time, but try it out, don’t go sleeping until midday every day. Your routine should be a rough plan for your day every day. Wake up, breakfast, shower, go for a walk, etc. Make a routine that is healthy and productive. Do this day after day and your body and mind will adjust to knowing exactly what it has in store each day. You will be ticking things off your to-do list in no time.
This sounds like a bit of a random one but if you are like me and you like to hang out on your bed and be super lazy, try this one! As soon as you start your day, get up and make your bed. This will make you feel like you have no option but to get up and be productive. Making your bed will stop you from wanting to get back into, especially if you make it look perfect. Try this out if you are finding it hard to get up and get moving. Don’t knock it until you try it.
