They could be the one who dumped you for some other person. They could be the one you dumped because you realized they were way too immature for you. Or, they could be the one who got away.
Whatever way y’all ended it, they are now an ex and we have to be on our baddest behavior when we know they’re gonna be at the function.
It’s Friday afternoon, your girl calls you up ready for the weekend cause lord knows you’ve had a week of non-stop studying and she proceeds to tell you there’s a party tomorrow night. Drinks, dancing, what could be better right? And then she hits you with the “but your ex is gonna be there…” You think to yourself you can either let his/her existence stop you from going out and having a bomb ass time or you could sit around at home and Netflix because you don’t want the extra drama. Both good options in my opinion however, you need a night out so you damn well better get your ass up off that couch, cause we got some shopping to do.
First up, if they’re an ex with not too much bad blood, you don’t have to go all out. Chances are you already have something in your closet and you don’t need to flaunt it all because you two are chill and you ended off on civil terms. My recommendation for this type of ex would be to dress in something cute, comfortable and very you. Maybe a well put together jeans and crop ensemble showing off your figure. This is the type of fit you’d wear when you know there’s not much of a chance for reconciliation and you’re more than okay with that, but you wanna party and have a fun time so why not opt for a cute pair of high-waisted jeans and a crop.
Now all of us aren’t lucky enough to be on good terms with our exes now are we! For that human being that you’re still a little salty about, you have to step your game up a bit. Definitely show a bit more skin, show them what they’re missing. Be sensual without bearing it all however. How to dress for this one really depends on how salty you are about the ending of the relationship. Were they a scumbag? Could you not handle their shit anymore? But that doesn’t mean they’re not gorgeous anymore so let’s get them thinking about all the ways they could’ve treated a woman as fine as yourself much better. Show some skin and be sure to dance it out when you know they’re watching.
I’ve come up with two options for how to dress with this one because girl you gotta have options, am I right. If you’re feeling jeans but still want to be scandalous, pair it with a mesh body suit. It’s always a good way to show some skin without sacrificing comfort.
Copy this look:
My second pick is something a bit more whimsical. You can’t really go wrong with a jump suit especially when it’s nice out and this is how to dress to make him/her remember just how absolutely adorable you are.
And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for… How to dress when “the one that got away” is going to be at the function. By this point you’ve probably been stressing hard that he/she is going to be there but you’ve decided to be brave and hit that party. And it could be because you might want to see them… don’t worry, I get it, I don’t judge. But you best be sure you’re looking fiiine. I’m talking makeup so flawless it looks like it was done by the gods, with that Fenty highlight all over your body because you know you gotta glow. The fit on point, with shoes to match and just the right amount of jewelry to set off all of your favorite features. I would recommend a dress for sure for this particular event. Something that shows off what you want it to with still being comfortable of course. Here’s a few, more than sexy options you could sport.
At the end of the day, it’s truly just about what you’re comfortable in. If all else fails and you have no idea how to dress just remember to be yourself. If you want to go to the function in jeans and a hoodie, you rock it. If you want to be hella extra and go all out, big hoops, heels and all than by all means do it up. We all have exes and we all have out different feels towards them but who really matters is you. Wear what you love and they’ll remember just how special you were to them and at the end of the night I’m hoping you’ll be saying “thank u, next”.
