How To Combat Bad Habits For Your Zodiac Sign

Everybody has their strengths. Many of which, we can trace to our astrological charts to research and gain a deeper understanding of our advantages and tendencies. However, with strength in one area often comes weakness in another.

Much of the time, a negative aspect of one’s personality arises as a result of leaning too heavily into a positive aspect, and this too is often outlined by detailed astrological birth charts. Here are the pitfalls that each astrological sign tends to exhibit, and how one might fight back those detrimental tendencies.

1. Capricorn

Capricorns are notorious workhorses; securing livelihood takes priority, and all too often, no amount of work feels satisfactory. It can be easy for Capricorns to lose sight of other responsibilities and simply tunnel-vision on work or school. Frequently, Capricorns will lose their senses of self-care and community altogether, believing themselves impervious to the effects of stress, isolation and overworking.

This can be a difficult cycle to break, but it can be broken! One of the most important things to do is to count non-material blessings. Practice gratitude as much as possible; be thankful for your health and for your life partners, family, friends, spouse and pets too.

Another essential measure to take is to create a self-care schedule. Capricorns typically love planning routines and sticking to them fiercely, so apply this to a calendar of self-love! Establish weekly nights of socializing, a daily exercise routine, a monthly massage, a couple hours of every day to devote to relaxation or, ideally, a combination of all of these.

2. Aquarius

Rebellious and self-sufficient, those with Aquarius represented strongly in their birth charts may have a tendency to defy others for the sake of feeling liberated by their own contrarianism. In addition to this, it can be difficult for an Aquarius to achieve intimacy due to their strong inclination to feel independent.

In contrast to this potential lack of depth to their relationships, Aquarius natives are likely to have a large number of acquaintances, surface-level relationships, most of which are liable to lack any sort of significant emotional intimacy.

It is necessary to find grounding force, to slow down the decision-making process and see the forest from the trees, the bigger picture. There is value in agreeing with others and developing close, intimate relationships.

3. Pisces

Like the water they so strongly represent, Pisces natives prefer to flow freely, without obstruction. Some may see Pisces as liberated, selfless free spirits, and this is often true to some extent.

However, Pisces have a tendency to do all they can to avoid conflicts, and can easily become rigid and stuck in these ways of avoidance.

As a Pisces native, one must regularly practice the necessary skills to de-escalate conflicts. Facing confrontation is likely one of your greatest fears if you have a strong Pisces representation in your birth chart, and this fear of conflict can, over time, cause negative feelings to fester and grow, rather than resolving and releasing.

Your desire is to feel free, however, you will never truly feel free if you do not confront and resolve your own negative feelings. This is where you begin to free yourself from your fear of confrontation; you start with yourself.

4. Aries

Assertive, forward and dominant as the ram, Aries can have tendencies which many will likely view as self-serving and ignorant to the feelings, wants and needs of others.

This strong instinct of self-preservation and advantage can make others feel neglected and apprehensive to continue into deep relationships with Aries natives.

However, this assertiveness can be applied with wonderful results to the act of caring for others. Choose to take care of a plant all on your own. Then, a pet. Eventually, a child, if that is your desire as an individual.

Once your nurturing and caring capacities become open and explored, doors will open. Your assertiveness will be used not just to benefit yourself, but to benefit those in your care as well.

5. Taurus

The stalwartness of a Taurus native can be a tremendous boon to certain aspects of life; a Taurus will likely be a hard worker, dedicated to their projects and willing to see any work through to the end, and also a fierce friend, determined to maintain the course of each interpersonal relationship.

However, this stalwart nature can transcend easily into the territory of stubbornness and stagnation. Often unwilling to divert from their course or to change in any way, it is easy for a Taurus native to become stuck in their ways, healthy or otherwise.

In addition to this, those with prominent Taurus representation are often given to excess, at times reveling in it. This can result in clutter, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Start small; practice organizational skills with material possessions, organizing minute and contained areas of your living space. Your dedication to a cause should help you to translate your organizational practice into larger physical spaces, as well as the mental and emotional aspects of your life.

Make little changes. Dip your toe into the water of spontaneity, if only just for a moment. Familiarize yourself with the idea of change, so that you eventually may view it as a healthy progression and not a thing to be combatted and avoided at all cost.

6. Gemini

Due to an innate gift for speech and an often articulate and long-winded nature, many Gemini natives wind up being terrible listeners. Mastery of one aspect of communication results sometimes in complete neglect for the other.

It is often that a Gemini will be given to extensive monologues even internally, without the presence of external conversation or stimuli.

In order to nurture your ability to remain silent and listen well to others, practice quietness of mouth and mind regularly. Meditation in stillness will likely feel far too stagnant, but practicing meditation in motion through Yoga or Tai Chi or some kind of flow art will assist in this process.

It may help to listen to public speakers of some kind and appreciate the grains of truth in their perspectives, and then slowly work to translate this act of listening into your interpersonal relationships, understanding the value of hearing out every perspective.

7. Cancer

Those who strongly represent the Cancer sign may appear, from the outside, to have simple goals, centered solely around protecting and providing for loved ones, establishing a home and remaining secure in that home. These goals, although simple, are profound and are set deeply into the heart of strong Cancers.

This inclination toward stability and home life can potentially result in unhealthy levels of introversion and, akin to Pisces natives, confrontation avoidance which expands and borders on anti-socialism.

As a human being, you are not meant to be entirely isolated; we are social creatures at our cores. You must allow yourself to trust your loved ones, as opposed to trusting only in your ability to care for them. Allow those who are close to you to encourage you to get out into the world. Baby steps to begin with, and perhaps that is all you’ll need.

8. Leo

Lions are often gifted with charisma and creativity, activism and prowess. And they know it.

Peacocking and constant self-promotion are the calling cards of a Leo in need of change. Natural gifts can sometimes give way to cockiness, however, this can often be deeply rooted in insecurity.

A Leo is liable to become desperate for the praise of others and show off to no end in order to receive this praise. As a result of this, they can be unwilling to compliment or even acknowledge the accomplishments of others.

This tendency will inevitably discourage others from praising and appreciating a self-absorbed Leo. In order to be seen positively in the eyes of others, as you desire, you must be willing to see others as positive, valuable and strong. Nurture your ability to compliment and help others and you will earn the praise for which you long through more than just your natural gifts but through your positive impact on the lives of others.

9. Virgo

Virgo natives are often staunch perfectionists; they may hold themselves to strict standards of beauty, productivity, morality or any range of attributes. They will fear deviation from this perfectionism, or see it as failure.

Often, a Virgo will hold not only themselves to these standards, but will also expect others to adhere to their own strict perfectionism. While this can healthily result in a strong and encouraging desire for others to be the best that they can be, it is all too often that a Virgo can become controlling, strict and unrelenting.

At worst, a Virgo will hold others to standards which they themselves do not live up to, and this can destroy relationships.

It is most important, as a Virgo, to acknowledge the free will and perfect-imperfection of others; you must remember to allow other people to be who they want to be, and not expect them to be who you yourself want them to be.

It’s fine, even healthy, to hold yourself to a high standard, as long as you remember to have fun once in a while, and don’t expect anything out of other people aside from their ability to be themselves.

10. Libra

A natural gift for finding and providing balance and harmony to given situations is undoubtedly a wonderful trait to have. However, as a Libra, it is imperative to understand the difference between justice and control.

Libra natives are often given to the grandiose, and can become prone to over-doing. As a Libra, it is important that one is able to find the beauty of simplicity.

Allow your natural ability to find harmony to guide you in your dealings with both yourself and with others, but don’t be too strict, and try to appreciate the small things. The bigger picture is, of course, important, but it is often made of thousands of tiny mosaic tiles.

11. Scorpio

None can match the ferocity and vindictiveness of a scorned Scorpio; they hold grudges like no other.

This habit of holding on to anger and pain has a unique and effective way of preventing any valuable feelings of love or trust from forming in the place of that anger. The heart of a Scorpio who feels wronged is liable to never truly be allowed to heal.

The best way to edge out your anger and your hatred for others is to instead embrace self-love. Keeping a journal, exercising, eating write or going out for a massage can be a good way to kick-start your appreciation for yourself. Ideally, you will be able to translate this love of self into love and trust in others.

12. Sagittarius

Sagittarius natives are bound to shoot straight. They will often be unable to refrain from telling the truth, even if the “truth,” happens to be harsh or even opinionated. This habit can potentially wind up alienating loved ones and potential friends.

Those with powerful Sagittarius representation will typically love the act of learning, but simultaneously hate the idea of someone else being able to teach them something.

It may be easiest to turn to books. Specifically books about the proper time to speak out, and when it is important to keep opinions to yourself.

In Conclusion

We all have our strengths, as well as our weaknesses. It is not important where those strengths and weaknesses lie, or how potent they are. The most important thing for all of us is to be aware of how to use our strengths and advantages, and how to patch up our weaknesses, regardless of astrological sign.
