5 Hidden Gems In New York City

New York City, The Big Apple, The Empire State, The Concrete Jungle. The names go on and on but they all have the same meaning; the most unique and beautiful cities in the world. NYC, like most vacation spots, has its tourist attractions. The Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, SoHo, and so much more. Personally, New York City is one of my favorite cities in the world. Every time I go, I appreciate its beauty. My first time in NYC was when I was 12; the One Direction pop-up store was my favorite! Every year I found something new to love about NYC. Here is my list of hidden gems in New York City.

5. Little Italy

Little Italy is mentioned in tour groups but to me, it’s one of those hidden gems in New York City. If you want a break from the crowds you don’t have to go far. Little Italy restaurants serve authentic Italian food. You don’t need to travel halfway around the world!

4. The Met and the it’s roof top bar

If I could do one thing, every day, for the rest of my life, it would be going to the MET. Getting lost and wandering around this museum is something I could spend hours doing. Even if that isn’t your cup of tea, it is still worth checking out. It may be known best for its infamous steps, but the most fantastic spot at the MET is the rooftop bar. I think it has one of the most beautiful views of Central Park and the city skyline in all of NYC!

3. 1iota Tickets

Okay, this isn’t a place in New York City, but it gives access to free tickets to shows in NYC. On 1iota.com, they have free tickets to LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, Good Morning America, The Chew, The View, and when concerts come to the city you can tickets for free on this website!

2. Dylan’s Candy Cafe

Located on the Upper East Side, above Dylan’s Candy Bar candy shop is the candy cafe. For me eating at Dylan’s Candy Bar Cafe was like a walk back into my childhood. When dining at Dylan’s Candy Bar, you order candy themed food, eat in (yes, IN!) a cupcake, sit on a gumdrop, and enjoy your meal on a table of gumballs!

1. Black Tap

Yes, my top 2 favorite things to do in NYC have to do with food, but once you eat at Black Tap nothing else is better! Black Tap is best known for their over the top milkshakes and ridiculously good burgers. The restaurant scene and environment is unique and perfect for this photo snapping age. I first experienced Black Tap when only 2 locations were available, but now there is sure to be one close by wherever you are. Check out one of the 5 locations now open in NYC! One of the best hidden gems in New York City.
