Here’s Which Houseplant Should You Get Based On Your Zodiac Sign

Everyone’s obsession with house plants has grown (no pun intended) in recent years. Whether you have a green thumb or generally stick to fake plants, there is a houseplant out there that perfectly reflects your personality and level of care-taking abilities. Using your zodiac sign, check out which houseplant is perfect for you to bring home and watch you and your plant grow together!

Aries: Succulent

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and thus is bold, ambitious and determined. Since their symbol is a ram, Aries love to go headfirst into new challenges and love to shine a bright light where ever they go.

This is why a succulent is a perfect plant for this fire sign. Arians are straight forward, just like a succulent. While they are very simple to care for, they love a lot of light, just like how Arians love being in the spotlight. Since Arians tend to jump headfirst into things, they sometimes speak before they think, reflecting the leaves of a succulent; their sharp tongue is like the sharp edges of the leaves.

Taurus: Fiddle Leaf Fig

Taureans are ruled by Venus and therefore enjoy love, beauty, and aesthetically pleasing items. They are focused and resilient and crave serenity.

The fiddle leaf fig is a great representation of a Taurus because it is coveted for design use and offers up a challenge to those who own it.  The beautiful leaves fulfill the desire of Taureans for beauty and the demanding care needs, are perfect for this earth sign who loves a good challenge.

Gemini: Philodendron Plants

Geminis are the social butterflies of the zodiacs and have so many interests, they are represented by the twin symbol for their ability to split their time among all their passions. From their various hobbies to several friend groups, Geminis are as vibrant as they get.

Due to their light and cheerful nature, philodendron plants are the perfect pairing for a Gemini. Philodendrons are flexible and open to adapting in any location and condition just like the air sign Gemini and their wandering, viny leaves reflect their desire to explore.

Cancer: Money Tree

Cancerians may be protected by hard outer layers, just like the crab that represents them, but deep down, they are very gentle, compassionate and love caring for others. They are domestically oriented and love having a space for family and friends to come together.

Both Cancerians and money trees have deep roots and positive energy. It is said that with special care, a money tree will bring prosperity, a task a Cancer will thrive at. The deep watering the plant loves reflects the deep caring of this water sign and the twisted roots reflect how connected Cancerians want to be with family and friends.

Leo: Bromeliad Plant

Leos are vivacious, confident and ruled by the sun. The lions of the zodiacs, they are loyal, consistent and passionate. Leos put their whole hearts into everything they do but take time off every once and a while to be wild and vibrant.

Since Leos are charismatic and bursting self-confidence, they are best represented by firey bromeliad plants. The warmth and color of these plants reflect a Leos personality and while showy, they can withstand a little neglect from time to time.

Virgo: Rubber Tree

Virgos are deep-rooted and practical and are sometimes misunderstood due to their perfectionist attitude. However, once you get to know them, they are helpful, kind and supportive friends.

A rubber tree is a perfect plant for a Virgo since it is often mistaken as a fake. These plants love being taken care of and given a lot of attention. Dependable Virgos will keep a rubber tree thriving.

Libra: Monsteras

Libras are represented by scales since they love balance and harmony in all aspects of their lives. They enjoy relationships and finding a balance between spending time with others and alone. They love art and beautiful things and spending time appreciating them.

Monsteras are the perfect plant for a Libra since they have split leaves just like how Libras split their lives. The beautiful symmetrical leaves have lead to this plant being a favorite among plant owners and will add a touch of art and beauty to a Libras space.

Scorpio: Dracaena

Scorpios, represented by the scorpion are often misunderstood due to their passion, direct and powerful personalities. However, Scorpios are also ambitious, empathetic and committed to their relationships.

Dracaenas are Scorpios in plant form. They will tell you exactly what they need through color changes in leaves and Scorpios will love their directness. The colored leaves also are symbolic of Scorpio’s personality since they are vibrant and passionate water signs.

Sagittarius: Alocasia

Fueled by wanderlust, Sagittarians love exploring and are always excited for a change. They have magnetic personalities and they are always fun in groups or at parties with their stories and laughs.

Alocasia plants have beautiful heart-shaped ruffly leaves that are more fun than traditional plant leaves just like the fun personalities of Sagittarians. From the Philippians, the plant also feeds into the travel lust.  Alocasia plants are perfect for steadfast and caring Sagittarians who will enjoy caring for this exotic plant.

Capricorn: Bonsai

Capricorns are known for their can-do attitudes and love of hard work. They enjoy staying focused and accomplishing tasks. They enjoy control and rules and thrive under a structured schedule.

With all those personality traits, it’s easy to guess that a bonsai tree is a perfect plant for Capricorns. With a long history, bonsai is now seen as an art form that takes a disciplined owner who likes control. Capricorns can focus on maintaining the plant for years to come.

Aquarius: Pothos

Aquarians are the humanitarians of the zodiacs and they are passionate about making their voices heard and instituting change. They have a bright and colorful personality and are often described as free-spirited or a rebel. They are nonconformists but loving friends.

Pothos have long, variegated leaves that love to stretch out of their pots. These represent the bright persona of Aquarians and how they love to reach out. Out of all the plants in the plant store, this is the one that my Aquarius husband was drawn to and decided to take home. So, a pothos must truly be the plant for this sign!

Pisces: ZZ Plant

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac so it is said that they learned from the rest of the signs, resulting in Pisces being the most empathetic and compassionate people. They are sensitive, kind, gentle and imaginative and show compassion to all.

ZZ Plants are very forgiving plants, full of compassion exactly like Pisceans. Their kind nature ensures that they are very easy to grow and won’t hold it against you if you forget to water them.
