Relationships can be tricky to figure out. You may feel like things are going well, but then something can happen and suddenly things go downhill. This is even more the case in college. Here’s how to tell if you’ve found the one.

1. You are never bored together

No matter what, you always find fun things to do together. Even if you are just watching TV or a movie on the couch, you find a way to make it enjoyable for each other.

2. You have inside jokes

More likely than not, you have found something to laugh at that only you two find hilarious. If the inside joke comes up in a conversation, just one look at each other and you both crack up.

3. You have similar goals

If one of you wants to live in a big city and have five kids while the other wants to live on a farm with no kids, this can be dicey. While sacrifice is important, there are some things that are difficult to compromise on.

4. You can see yourself marrying him/her

If you do not plan on marrying the person, do not waste your time. Being able to say that you cannot picture your future without your significant other is a major sign that he/she is the one.

5. You can fight but work through it

No relationship is without fights. However, if you get bent out of shape over the minor things, maybe he/she is not the one. Likewise, if you can have a big fight and makeup at the end of the day, it is a good sign that you can make it through anything together.

6. You trust each other

Trust is a major aspect of a solid relationship. You can tell each other anything without being too worried about what the other person will say and you trust each other to keep secrets.

7. Respect each other

You respect each other’s boundaries and lines. You listen to each other and do not try to compete with successes. Neither of you ever belittle the other or ever “talk down” to each other like the other is a child.

8. You support each other through thick and thin

No matter what, you have each other’s back. If one of you is stressed or going through a tough time, the other is there to lift them up, knowing they would do the same if the scenario was reversed.

9. You listen to each other

Communication is the key to any relationship. Being able to tell each other anything, especially when it comes to issues in the relationship, is crucial. A solid relationship has both lines open for communication. It doesn’t have to be hard when it comes to how to tell if you’ve found the one.

10. Your relationship is more than physical

While physical intimacy is one aspect of a relationship, it should not be the glue that holds the relationship together. The relationship should be grounded in love before intimacy. If you ground yourself in love first, everything else will fall into place.
