After a while, rooms in your home can become supremely dull. It can put you in a bad mood just being in it! Tiring of your space doesn’t mean you have to move, it just means that you need to breath some new life into it!
We’ve compiled tips on how to completely transform a room. Take our advice and follow all the steps. After all, there’s nothing more pleasing than a fresh and inspiring space!
Painting your walls is a huge change that will drastically improve any room!
Most people only paint their room once, when they first move into a new home. However, when you’ve had the same paint color for a few years, it can become old.
Begin by checking out paint chips and seeing which one you like best! Once you’ve decided, go ahead and purchase enough paint for your space. You’ll also need paint brushes, paint rollers, a tarp, a paint can opener, and a cutting tool.
We suggest pushing all of your furniture to the center of the room to free up your walls for painting. Then, lay down your tarp and go to town! As you paint that first victorious stroke of your gorgeous new paint, you’ll see what a worthy investment re-painting was!
Another big feature of most rooms is the furniture. Changing your furniture doesn’t necessarily mean buy new furniture, but feel free to do so.
What’s an even more fun transformation project is DIY changes to the furniture that you already have!
Any wooden furniture can easily be striped and stained a new color. Alternatively, you could also paint your wooden furniture.
If you have any metal furniture, they make spray paint that will stick to metal.
You can also change the knobs on any furniture that has drawers.
Have fun picking out new colors for your furniture! If you have dark furniture, try a lighter color and vice versa!
Most rooms have windows and with windows comes curtains. Most curtains are long and dramatic so changing them out will be noticeable.
If you’ve already changed your wall and furniture colors, it’ll be fun to find curtains that match the vibes of your new room.
If you aren’t sure where to start, curtains in neutral colors like white, tan, and black will look good in almost any room! If you’re looking for some spice for you room, try getting a busy patterned curtain.
Parting the curtains and letting light into your room is one of the first things most people do in the morning so choose curtains that make you happy!
New sources of light can completely change the vibes of your room. This can take many different forms.
For instance, painting the base of your lamps a new color and switching out the lampshade. You could also get a completely new lamp.
Switch out your ordinary main light for something with more personality. For instance, a chandelier or those hipster old fashioned light bulbs.
You could also get variations of fairy lights. Fairy lights can line your ceiling and wrap around furniture. One popular idea is creating an accent wall in which you cover a wall of fairy lights with sheer curtains for a romantic and glowing light source.
There’s also different colored light bulbs to set different moods.
Add more light sources to brighten up a room and less light sources to relax a room more.
