5 Healthy Food Subscription Boxes That’ll Make You Never Look Back

Summer is here…unless you are in Alaska, but even then it is just around the corner. With summer comes cut off shorts, flowy dresses and bikinis, so it’s important to feel and look your best this time of the year. While I usually have my exercise routine in check and on point, we all know that saying about health being 20% gym and 80% kitchen. And if you are anything like me…cooking is not your thing. I don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen for 2 hours preparing a healthy dinner when I could be out playing in the sunshine. Luckily, we live in an age where fresh prepared food can be delivered right to your door step. So, if you are wanting to keep your fitness on track without spending hours inside the kitchen, or are simply a terrible cook like me, check out these five healthy food subscription boxes that will have you stress-free and happy!

Sun Basket

Sun Basket is the perfect choice for picky eaters who are cooking for more than 2. Their meals feed up to four people and can be cooked in 30 minutes… seriously this will save the mothers, or fathers, out there so much time and energy. I think the best part about this service is that they make meals for every sort of diet/ lifestyle out there. You can choose from gluten free, paleo, vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian… the list goes on and on, and with meals being designed by their in-house award winning chef, whatever you choose is bound to be delicious.

Plated

Plated is the best box for those who want to eat an environmentally conscious diet. Their meats are raised without antibiotics or added hormones, their seafood is sustainably caught (which I am hoping means wild caught as well), their produce is chosen seasonally, and they work with artisans for authentic tastes. I honestly feel like I don’t need to say anything else about them… they are amazing, check them out.

Hello Fresh

What I love about Hello Fresh is that they lay it all out on the table, literally. But in all seriousness, they provide the clearest picture of farm to table. You can know exactly where your seafood is from, who planted the avocado on your taco dish, or what family farm grew the carrots in your soup. They are environmentally friendly, but also support small businesses, and for that, they get my stamp of approval.

Blue Apron

Blue Apron is for all you foodies out there that want to become better cooks. They are serious about good food, so serious they provide wine pairings… I had you at wine didn’t I? Listen, this isn’t the box for people like me who don’t want to put in the work… you will have to cook with Blue Apron, but man do they make it easy to follow and absolutely with it in the end.

Freshly

Now if you were turned off by the idea of cooking complex but amazing food, Freshly is for you. They require no cooking at all! It’s basically like signing up for weekly delivery, except way better. The never frozen gluten free food is sent to your front door in a refrigerated box, so all you have to do is pick from their weekly menu, and wait. O.K. you may want to heat it up, but that’s about it…healthy can’t get any easier than that. This is one of the best healthy food subscription boxes for any family!

Hi, I am Nancy Strahan. I recently graduated with my BA in English Literature and am working to gain experience in the writing/content creation business. I was born and raised in Alaska and I love it here. I am pretty much an outdoor and adrenaline junkie, so if it is crazy or in nature, I'm there. So, naturally all things camping, backpacking, and adventure related are my favorite topics to write about.
