10 Healthy Dinner Ideas You’ll Want To Make Again And Again

We all need a little healthy in our lives. There are so many dinner ideas out there that not only taste good but are healthy for you. While ordering take-out Chinese is quick and easy, it shouldn’t happen every night. That doesn’t mean completely cut it out but make sure to only have it a few times a month.

Eating healthy can be fun and it can also be a good way to let your kids/husband/boyfriend/friend/etc. help you in the kitchen. These dinners will show you that eating healthy can be much easier than you thought. So, put on your apron, get your pots and pans and let’s get to cooking.

1. Cauliflower Pizza

Pizza can be healthy! Instead of having a thick slice of dough smothered in sauce and cheese, make a cauliflower crust. Top your pizza with homemade marina sauce. This way you know what ingredients you are putting into your body. Add on veggies on your choice, maybe some turkey pepperoni and top it off with just a little bit of cheese. If you want to make this low calorie, skip the cheese altogether. You won’t even miss it because the cauliflower crust is delectable. Get a yummy recipe here.

2. Kale Salads

Ew, kale. Just kidding. Kale is actually delicious when prepared right. There are so many ways to incorporate kale into healthy dinner ideas but salads are a given. Sometimes salads aren’t enough but Hot For Food, a vegan blog, has an amazing again noodle and kale salad that makes other salads look pathetic. This yummy healthy dinner has the greens you need topped off with a mountain of noodles. Everything in moderation can be healthy after all.

3. Zoodles

Zoodles are a great healthy dinner idea that will satisfy your pasta craving. Zoodles are just zucchini strips. You can sauté them in a pan with cherry tomatoes, onions, garlic and a little bit of olive oil or you can toss them in marina sauce and add turkey meatballs. Either way, zoodles are a quick and easy dinner idea.

4. Quinoa Stuffed Peppers

Stuffed peppers are classic comfort food and a childhood favorite. Instead of being stuffed with breadcrumbs and meat, try using quinoa. Quinoa is a grain that has a ton of health benefits. It’s delicious and can be cooked a ton of different ways. Stuffing peppers with quinoa, beans and other veggies will make a great weekday dinner.

5. Zucchini Boats

Cut a zucchini in half and hollow out the inside. You can stuff it with anything you like pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni or you can cook up some taco meat, add some salsa on top and some cheese. After they cook, they become little zucchini taco boats. Get the recipe here.

6. Buddha Bowls

Buddha bowls are really good. Start with a bowl of brown rice, roast some veggies like sweet potato and red onion. For some extra protein add on tofu or crispy chickpeas. Finish it off with a drizzle of tahini and sliced avocado. These bowls are really customizable to your liking. They are really filling from the brown rice. If you want something that isn’t so high in carbs, switch out the brown rice for some quinoa instead.

7. Spaghetti Squash

Another pasta substitute. If you want something that will trick your mind into thinking it’s eating pasta, then spaghetti squash is for you. To learn how to cook this vegetable, check out this recipe. There are so many ways to top off your spaghetti but tossing it in pesto and adding in some toasted pine nuts and a little bit of shaved parmesan is a delectable combo.

8. Stuffed Sweet Potatoes

If you don’t fancy sweet potatoes you can swap these out for regular potatoes. Roast your potatoes in the oven for 45 minutes at 425 degrees. Prick the potato to help it cook evenly. After it done, cut it in half and stuff it with your favorite vegetables. This is a slight take on a loaded baked potato. Try adding sautéed kale or spinach and some crunchy, crispy chickpeas on top. Drizzle with a little bit of tahini or sauce of your choice. This dinner will keep you full all night long.

9. Sushi Bowl

If you are craving sushi but want to eat something a little bit on the healthier side, try a sushi bowl. These bowls are basically deconstructed sushi rolls but you can add anything you like on them. Try this version from Delish or make your own. Adding some crunchy nori sheets on top gives it a little bit more texture and also adds in the extra nutrients.

10. Sesame Cauliflower

Instead of eating sesame style chicken from take out, make it at home and sub the chicken for cauliflower. The taste and texture aren’t much different and having the extra veggies added to your diet will make you feel better overall. This is also a good recipe of stubborn kids who won’t eat their vegetables. Serve it with some white rice or steamed veggies if you don’t want the extra carbs. Tasty has a wonderful recipe.
