10 Halloween Makeup Tutorials Under 5 Minutes
Halloween is coming up, and you still don’t have any idea what you want to do for a costume! Next thing you know, your scrambling last minute to pull something together out of old bedsheets and costume paint sets. If you’re the type of person that tends to leave these jobs until the last minute, or you’re just not very good at the whole Halloween makeup get-up, why not try out some of these super easy and Halloween makeup tutorials. For most of these tutorials what you’ll need is just a little costume paint and your usual makeup set. Oh, and they can all be completed at lightning speed! 1. Pennywise
The long-anticipated IT Chapter Two lands in cinemas on the 6th September this year, and I’m already wetting myself just watching the trailer. And what better way to celebrate the return of Pennywise than smacking on your best clown mug? This tutorial is less creepy than Skarsgård’s rendition, that’s for sure and opts for a more sweet/sinister look. Apart from recommended white face paint, you won’t need any other costume makeup beside your own pallet. Just make sure you have lots of red. Lots of red.

The Addams Family has touched the hearts of all lovers of Halloween since they stepped onto the creep-scene. Whether it’s 1990s movie, the TV series way back from 1964, or even the new Addams family movie coming out this Halloween. That’s right. 2019 is the year The Addams Family goes Claymation! Let’s take a little step away from your run-of-the-mill black cat look and add a little crazier to the color palette. And when I say crazy, I’m taking Wonderland level crazy. The Cheshire Cat is a great way to put a spin on the usual witch’s cat costume and use more fun shades of purple and pink. And don’t forget to wear that Cheshire Cat grin. 4. Glam Vampire
A Halloween makeup tutorial list wouldn’t be complete without at least one vampire look. Try this one out if you want to look like the bell of the undead-ball, pointy teeth, blood and all. For this look, I’ve chosen the quick and easy glam-vampire look done by Abby Roberts. It holds true to the original vampire aesthetics of pale skin, dark eye makeup, and scarlet red lips. You could try matching this look with a little black dress for a fantastic new-wave, modern vampire apparel that’ll be the envy of all your ghoulish friends.

5. Scarecrow
Scarecrows have gone in and out of Halloween fashion over the decades but have always been considered a creepy staple. The rise and fall in scarecrow popularity is probably owing to the lack of recent popular horror films featuring scarecrows as villains. I think it’s time for a well overdue revival of scarecrow culture. To start it off, how about being a scarecrow for Halloween!
This Halloween makeup tutorial, however, falls more under the ‘cute’ category of costuming than ‘creepy’. 6. Sadako (From The Ring)
Japanese horror is all the rage this year since Sadako, a follow-up film of the original Ringu (The Ring) film dropped in May 2019 in Japan. Nothing excites me more than the prospects of getting more Japanese horror action with Sadako. And this look, based on the monster from the movie The Grudge, another American horror based on a Japanese film, is the perfect way to mark this time.
This tutorial is one for Kayako from The Grudge, but the look is very transferrable. The best thing about most Japanese ghosts and monsters is that they all share the same classic ghost features. What kind of ghosts are you into this Halloween? Beautiful Victorian-styled specters? Or terrifying wraiths with malicious intent! When Corpse Bride dropped in 2005, I wonder if Tim Burton was aware he was creating an instant classic Halloween look. The corpse bride Halloween makeup tutorial is a look that has been done over and over again through the years and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be stopped this year either. Her blue skin, sunken doe eyes, tiny lips, and exposed rib cage is a timeless image that sends so many makeup artists on YouTube into a spiral of latex covered gore tutorials. Aren’t freckles cute? Sweet little sun-kissed dots scattered across your nose and cheeks. Now, how about we add a little Halloween spirit to that image and turn those freckles into spiders! Spider freckles are probably the most simplistic Halloween makeup tutorial on this list, while at the same time being the most original and creative. This is a great look for people who aren’t stressed about putting too much effort into their costume ideas and are more interested in accenting their overall look with cute little additions.
