10 Halloween Activities That Are Still Fun For Adults

Once you grow out of trick or treating, there is a huge chance that Halloween loses its appeal. Everything that is magical about it seems a thing of the past, but this is not the case. It may take some time to figure out which elements still make you happy but there are options available. Here are 10 Halloween activities that are still fun for adults.

1. A Trip To The Pumpkin Patch

With hayrides, corn mazes, and candy corn flavored snacks what’s not to love about the pumpkin patch? Although your location determines the options in a pumpkin patch, it is something that you can enjoy as an adult. It can be a great date night that ends with a haunted hayride cuddled close or you can make it interesting by picking out the most misshapen pumpkins! Taking a trip to your local pumpkin patch is typically a family-friendly environment so it will definitely be a positive experience.

2. Pumpkin Carving

Well, you didn’t pick those pumpkins for nothing! One of my best memories with my significant other is when we picked out a pumpkin and got a carving kit. We hadn’t done this ritual since we were children, so it was something we got to share as a couple and put our art skills to the test! Although I ended up using a stencil for one side, it was a fun activity that took up our whole day.

3. Spooky Movie Marathons

Throw on your favorite slasher films, pop some popcorn, and invite some friends over to watch! You can also take the Halloweentown route which I prefer and relive the magic through Marnie’s eyes. Sometimes binge-watching is the only activity you’re up for and you can take advantage of the theme when Halloween rolls around. There is also Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween that you can feast your eyes upon!

4. Baking Monster Treats

Kids aren’t the only ones who can have yummy treats on Halloween! Get some tips from Halloween baking shows on the Food Network or attempt to make your own. Cupcakes, cookies, and Rice Krispies treats are a few simple favorites. Feel free to make them as scary or as sweet as you want. This is a Halloween activity an adult can enjoy!

5. Festivals

Halloween time brings about lots of Autumn and Halloween festivals. If you never quite outgrew bobbing for apples or ring toss games, this is right up your alley! Search local organizations to see if they are holding a themed festival and consider taking it one step further by getting involved. Run your own booth or just enjoy the games!

6. Haunted Houses

For those of you on the more exhilarating side, consider getting a group of friends and checking out some haunted houses. Theme parks even have Halloween themed nights designed to spook out their guests while waiting in line for roller coasters if that’s more your speed. Watch out behind you!

7. Events

Sometimes adults get tired of seeing kids have all the fun, so they throw annual Halloween parties! If you are on the craftier side and enjoy being a host, this could be the perfect adult Halloween activity. On those occasions when you don’t want to be in charge, consider going to a Halloween rave where you can meet up with some friends and dance the night away!

8. Costume It Up

Whether it’s homemade or store-bought, dressing up for Halloween can definitely be an adult thing. Even if you aren’t going anywhere special, you can still put together your dream costume. Maybe there’s a couples costume you always wanted to try or you just want to make that fantasy of being Sailor Moon come true, the possibilities are endless! You may not be going door to door for candy but that doesn’t mean a costume is out of the question. This is one of the Halloween activities that we enjoy most!

9. Murder Mystery Party

Something I have always wanted to try but have yet to have the pleasure, you can have an adult murder mystery party! Guests can put on their best outfits and attend an event where they must figure out who dunnit. You can make special appetizers with caution tape and fake blood on the tables to make it an authentic experience. This game will have you on edge all night!

10. Unlimited Candy

Since you’re an adult, you don’t have to patiently wait for “fun size” chocolates and that is the best part of Halloween. Feel free to indulge in those Costco sized variety candy bags without guilt and without sharing! Halloween is a time to enjoy treats and there is no one holding you back now. This is one of the best Halloween activities!

Being an adult doesn’t mean Halloween fun is out of the question! Have you tried any of these Halloween activities? What ideas do you have for Halloween activities that adults can enjoy? Tell us in the comments!
