Great Ways To Stay Cool And Keep Going This Summer

When you’re looking at those hot summer months, there are actually a lot of great ways to keep cool and keep going with your hobbies and goals. Here are some tips and tricks that will allow you to stay healthy and active even when the weather can be hot and beating down. Don’t be cooped up inside this summer season, keep going.

1. Know that wearing more can actually keep you cooler

When you’re tempted this summer to go without a shirt outside, bikini top or nothing, and shorts, remember that more actually can do more for you. Wearing clothes inside, but especially outside in the summer, can better allow your body to heat more and more often, providing the opportunity to sweat it all out. Sweating can release toxins, be a fantastic weight-loss tool, and can actually end up keeping you cooler during the day.

If you’re looking to stay healthy and even lose weight this summer, sweat is one of the best ways to achieve this. You don’t even have to exercise if you don’t want to in order to get that sheen. Let the weather do the work and reap the benefits. More time outside can increase the sweat and thus the results so being outdoors is all the more encouraged and you can be healthier that way as well. Soak up that valuable vitamin D and get some great glow to your skin tone!

2. Utilize your blender

With all the delicious summer drinks out there, a blender is such a great kitchen instrument to have regularly at your disposal. Staying cool and healthy will be more encouraged. You will also have more opportunity and ease to enjoy all those fruity, yogurty, hidden vegetable smoothies. There is also more opportunity here to have a frozen margarita or cocktail when you want it! Having a blender can also encourage quality time with your loved ones in opportunities to gather and entertain.

When you’re looking for ways to save money and live healthier, look at ways you can do more and make more at home, especially in the kitchen. Don’t pay that extra mark-up for someone else to make the cool drinks that you can make in your own style for less money and more reward at home. Healthy, cooling drinks packed with vitamins and protein made regularly at home are a great way to start your day off right and keep you going when you need a mid-day boost. You will find yourself more active and energized!

3. Take cold showers

Cold showers are one of those surprising hacks you wouldn’t often normally consider. Think about how nice a hot shower is in the wintertime and reverse that for summer. And if you think the benefits stop there, you’re wrong. On top of a cheap way of staying cool that you can do at home, cold showers are a healthy way to wake you up, increase your immune system, and reduce muscle soreness (which is especially nice after a workout).

With a cold shower, you can also experience improved blood circulation and a speedier metabolism. Did you know it’s even been shown to reduce depression and give you more glowing hair and skin! You can sleep better, get sick less often, be more productive, and reportedly better self-esteem. Not only do the health benefits speak for themselves, cold showers are cheaper and use less water because no heating is involved. You can help the environment and feel better yourself.

4. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

When you go out this summer to an activity or to get some exercise, it’s important to know the value of water. Nothing replaces water in regards to health and hydration in hot water. Not getting enough water can affect your body’s ability to make sweat and stay cool in general. To keep going this summer, it’s also valuable to be aware of the dangers of the wrong beverages, especially in meaningful excess. Don’t drink too many alcoholic, sugary, and/or caffeinated drinks in heat that risk your dehydration. Also, make sure to re-hydrate equal to the amount you sweat.

5. Eat foods that have high water content

There are many different ingredients and foods you can eat to keep you cooler and more active. These include peppermint, aloe vera, and coconut water. Hydrating foods such as fruits and vegetables can also give your body the hydration it needs for staying cool and going this summer. Some of the most hydrating include watermelon, strawberries, celery, cantaloupe, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Salads are a great cold meal with tons of nutrition and delicious recipes including some of these most hydrating foods.

6. Keep your snacks low-calorie

One of the best ways to prevent feeling sluggish and tired during the heat is to keep your snacks, meals, and drinks low calorie in general. When staying cool during the hot months, not only is it important to be aware and adherent to hydration needs but also to get the right nutrients into your body for adequate energy as you stay active and sweat. Light foods and meals are a great way to keep calories down and not overeat, causing sluggishness. In the summer, your body needs and uses more energy to keep cool so a stricter diet of the right foods is a great way to keep going this summer.

7. Utilize the shade

Keeping your body and even car in cooler areas the most time you can require less energy expenditure from them, and be better for the environment. Instead of using energy for staying cool, find a naturally shady area with less sunlight. More time in nature is thus encouraged and more time outside means more vitamins for your body to soak up naturally and freely. Fresh air can also help anxiety, depression, and mental clarity. Outdoor time in the right places can thus actually make you more happy, productive, eco-friendly, and cost-effective!

For staying cool and keeping active this summer, listen to what your body needs more of with vitamins and hydration. These cost-efficient, eco-friendly, and healthy methods can help you do what you love and live happier in the heat! Let us know what you thought of these great tips in the comments.
