6 Great Skincare Products From Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s is my go-to place for groceries, but it has also become one of my go-to places for skincare products as well. Here is a list of products that I’ve used, in the order that I used them.

1. Trader Joe’s Micellar Cleanser & Makeup Remover Towelettes

Micellar water (cleansing oil molecules suspended in water) has been all the rage in the skincare community these past few years, but good old TJ’s has had these makeup wipes on the shelves since 2013. These wipes are great for removing makeup and dirt from your skin before you use a cleanser.

2. Trader Joe’s Nourish All-In-One Facial Cleanser

Trader Joe’s claims this product is a tearless, antioxidant rich, exfoliant and cleanser, but I’m hesitant to agree, only because it doesn’t really exfoliate the skin at all, and if you put a bunch in your eye, you will cry (and I have). As far as cleansers go, it’s excellent. It’s gentle enough for my combination skin and my father’s drier skin and still gets the job done. It comes in a pump bottle, and I really don’t think companies understand how much I want, need, and love the control that a pump bottle gives me. I’m a disaster and I don’t know how I manage it, but I always either squeeze too little or too much product when I have a tube. I’m the girl with too much toothpaste in her mouth. I’m also the girl who drops her tube of cleanser on the ground because her hands are wet. Most of my love for this cleanser may be because of the packaging.

3. Trader Joe’s Rose Water Facial Toner

Products that smell great make like them more; I’m shallow like that. TJ’s Rose Water Toner smells like a garden in bloom. Made with Damask rose water and rose oil, soapbark, and witch hazel, this toner should be used after cleansing, but can also be sprayed throughout the day to refresh your skin.

4. Trader Joe’s Nourish Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum

Hyaluronic acid is the cornerstone of any seriously hydrating skincare routine. Products with hyaluronic acid can treat acne, dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and can help combat the effects of sun damage that weakens the naturally occuring hyaluronic acid in our extracellular matrix. TJ’s Antioxidant Facial Serum also contains vitamins E, C, K, and pomegranate and bayberry fruit extracts, as well as retinol. This serum packs a punch, and at a reasonable price (but what else would we expect from TJ’s?), it’s a product that’s worth adding to your skincare routine.

5. Trader Joe’s Enrich Moisturizing Facial Lotion SPF 15+

Sun protection is so important. On top of wearing sunscreen every day, it doesn’t hurt to have a moisturizer that has a little built-in protection. This lightweight moisturizer contains nourishing ingredients like vitamin A, C, and E, as well as being PABA free. It’s lightweight,  , and goes on matte, which makes it a good base for makeup. Drawback: I hate the bottle. It’s a squeeze bottle. It always flies right out of my hands. I’m clumsy, and I want the world to change itself for me, so I look less dumb going about my day to day life. Besides the unfortunate packaging, this product is a worth it winner for the price and the skincare benefits it provides.

6. Trader Joe’s Spa 100% Australian Tea Tree Oil

Do you have acne? Tea tree oil is one of the most natural spot treatments for it. On top of having antifungal properties (there are many tea tree shampoos and conditioners on the market, including Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle line, because of how well it works to treat dandruff), it also works to reduce inflammation and redness. Make sure to dilute it with water or a carrier oil (may we suggest TJ’s Jojoba Oil or Vitamin E oil?), because its potency can have the opposite effect of irritating your skin.

Which of these skincare products from Trader Joe’s have you tried? Which are you going to try? Let us know in the comments below!
