8 Great Apps You Need On Your Phone In 2023

These days, there is an app for practically everything. Whether it’s for entertainment, socialization, inspiration, or for solving daily problems, our smartphone apps keep us going and our lives revolve around them more than we think they do. And this isn’t necessarily a bad thing; modern technology has given us the opportunity to better our lives and find ways of connecting and improving.

In order to use technology for good going into the new year, here are eight great apps that you need on your phone in 2023!

1. Headspace

This has been a fan-favorite app for quite some time now; used for better sleep and meditation purposes, Headspace will help you “learn to manage feelings and thoughts with the lifelong skill of everyday mindfulness.”

By downloading the app, you immediately gain free access to basic meditations, sleepcasts, and other inspirational audio experiences to aid you in practicing mindfulness. By paying for an annual subscription, you can unlock tons more meditation guides and other unique videos. If your new year’s goal involves self-improvement in any way, Headspace is an app that you absolutely need on your phone right now!

2. Think Dirty

This app has saved me from buying unclean home and beauty products on so many occasions. Think Dirty is an app that scans the barcode of any beauty product—such as haircare products, makeup, and even household cleaning products—and gives you a ‘cleanliness rating,’ as well as a list of clean and unclean ingredients in whichever product you scan.

Think Dirty has information on thousands of products so that you can feel safe about what you’re putting on your skin, hair, and clothes (they give ratings for laundry products, too!). The app also has suggestions for clean and natural products in almost every category you can think of. You definitely need this app on your phone anytime you’re shopping from now on, and it will help transform your daily beauty routine!

3. Impulse

2023 is the year to improve your mind and train your brain to be faster and smarter. That’s why you need Impulse; it’s the #1 brain training app in the world, and it has tons of fun games that are not only for entertainment—they’re also to exercise your mind and keep your brain working hard!

You can also learn so much more about yourself on Impulse; they have intelligence and personality tests to teach you new things about who you are. By downloading this fun and educational app, you can train your memory, brain speed, and focus to become the very best version of yourself this year.

4. Canva

Looking to refresh your creativity and gain a new spark of inspiration? Canva is the perfect app for that! It allows you to create and generate all sorts of things, such as presentations, logos, flyers, social media posts, and so much more.

You can utilize the free features on this app, or you can upgrade to Canva Pro to get access to even more templates and design tools. This awesome app will help you discover newfound creativity within yourself, and it will become your new go-to design tool for so many things!

5. Zombies, Run!

Do you have a hard time getting yourself to go for a run, or does running in general make that pit of dread in your stomach grow? Zombies, Run! is an incredibly unique app that will make running so much fun!

This is a fully immersive experience; when you put on your headphones or earbuds, you dive into an audio world in which zombies are chasing you! In order to evade them, you must run for your life; you can track your runs and go on hundreds of different missions and routes. With this app, you’ll actually want to step outside and go for a run!

6. Finch

Finch: Self Care Widget Pet is a 5-star app that helps you practice self-care in a new and fun way. When you download the app, you can create a little, virtual pet who grows as you complete tasks and take part in mindfulness activities.

By caring for your pet, you also care for yourself and your mental health. This app will help you improve your mind and give you an outlet for self-care in a slightly unconventional—but fun—way. Get ready to be the best version of yourself in 2023 with Finch!

7. Waterllama

Watterllama is a water tracker app that will help you reach your daily water drinking goals. It was the 2022 Cultural Impact Winner on the App Store, and it allows people all over to track the water from everything they drink.

With adorable widgets available, daily goals and challenges, and friendly reminders to drink water, you can make sure that you’re staying hydrated and getting all the water you need in a day. Waterllama is a must-have app for 2023 in order to stay healthy and energized!

8. BeReal

If you haven’t heard of BeReal before, it’s time to hop on the trend. This was one of the most popular new apps of the past year, and it’s sure to be just as big in 2023. It was created to make social media more ‘real’ and less filtered.

The way BeReal works is every day, at a random time, a notification goes to your phone—and to everyone else’s—saying that it’s time to post your BeReal for the day. Then, you have two minutes to take a photo of what you’re doing at that very moment while it simultaneously snaps a selfie of you, too. With this app, your friends get to see what you’re really up to in your daily life, and you get to see what they’re doing, too! No more perfect, curated social media necessary.

All of these apps will help you either achieve new year’s goals, improve your life, or just add something fun to your phone screen! Let us know which apps are your favorites from 2022, and which ones you’ll be downloading in 2023!
