10 Glittery Makeup Trends You HAVE To Try

Let’s face it. Whether you love it or hate it, glitter isn’t going anywhere. We grew up loving to add it to our art projects, notebooks, book covers (something had to liven up those ugly paper bags!) clothes, shoes, and hair.

Now, as adults, we are adding it to our faces to help bring a little extra shine to the beauty we all naturally carry. Some add it to their eyes, some to their lips, and some just…add it everywhere. Some still put it in their hair. (Guilty!) Some even still add it to their clothes and shoes. (Also guilty!)

Whether you’re a glitter addict, or just want a little extra sparkle in your day, there’s a makeup look out there for you. Some are barely there subtle, and some are direct and definitely in your face.

3.) Party Glitter Eyes

How to get it:

1.) Start by applying an eyeshadow primer across your lid. Blend a transition eyeshadow (you can also use bronzer) into the crease of your eye. Be careful and build up the intensity of the color gradually until you are happy with it.

2.) Take the same color underneath your eye and blend.

3.) Take a brown eyeshadow and start to blend gradually on the outer corner of your eyes. Use very sparingly and blend gradually.

4.) Taking an eyeliner brush, apply a neat line of black along your top lash line, flicking it out at the edge.

How to get it:

1.) To start, apply an eyeshadow primer across your entire lid and then blend a transition eyeshadow into the crease of your eye, taking it down along the lower lash line too. You can also use a bronzer if you don’t have a transition shadow handy.

2.) Build up the intensity of the color gradually until you are happy with it. Then, apply a really light shadow to the center of your eyelid.

3.) Using an eyeliner brush, carefully line the top of your lashes and flick out at the end to create a feline flick. Once this is dry, use an eyeliner brush and a glitter gel or metallic eyeshadow and trace the outline of the feline flick you’ve already drawn.

4.) Take a darker shadow and apply it along the lower lash line, then using the same eyeliner brush you used to apply your glitter, apply some glitter into the inner corner of your eye.

5.) Apply white eyeliner to your lower waterline to open and brighten the eye, then finish with a few coats of jet black mascara.

9.) Professional Looking Glitter Eyes

How to get it:

1.) Before applying any eye makeup, you want to prime your eyes with an eye primer that will prep your lids, allow colors to appear more vibrant, and keep your makeup lasting all night long. In a pinch, a dab of concealer or foundation will also do the trick!

2.) Start by layering a silver eyeshadow onto your eyelids. This metallic shadow will give your lids the perfect shimmery base for your glitter. Then, define your crease with a dark gray shadow. Drag this same eye shadow along your lower lash line, smudging it out for a smoky effect.

3.) Use a patting motion to apply silver eye glitter to your eyelid to ensure there isn’t any fallout. Pack the glitter on for a bold, sparkling look. Add some contrast by applying a gold metallic eye shadow to your lower lash line.
