Super Bowl Sunday is (probably) everyone’s favorite Sunday of the year. Instead of the Sunday Scaries, we stuff our faces with game day snacks and wash them down with beers. We scream at the TV at bad calls and victorious touch downs, and marvel over the halftime show. If you’re not a football fan, like me, the game has zero interest to you. Instead, the food, the commercials, and the cute players are enough to keep us occupied on Super Bowl Sunday. Here are 10 GIFs to describe non-football fans like me.
Let’s be honest, just because it’s super bowl Sunday does not mean we’re obligated to know who’s playing or who to root for. A touch down is a touch down, so we’ll clap either way. Right?
When the super bowl Sunday crowd starts boo-ing at the TV, we don’t get why. We sit there and observe everyone’s reactions to the ref’s calls that are apparently always in-favor of the team we don’t want to win.
The only reason super bowl Sunday is celebrated is because of the food. Game day snacks are the epitome of an epic Sunday, sans the football game. Wings, chips and dip, mini pigs in a blanket, mini anything is a win from us, despite who wins the game.
You’re lying if you say the football is the only great thing about super bowl Sunday. The commercials are known to be some of the best played during the year, and the rest of the game is spent discussing which ones are our favorites and which puppy-beer commercials tugged our heart strings the most.
It doesn’t matter who’s playing the halftime show, it’s one of the greatest parts of super bowl Sunday. How cool is it that these football guys play a game while at a huge pop stars concert ?!
After all is said and done, after we snacked our way through the whole party spread, and after the initial excitement of super bowl Sunday wears off, we’re pretty bored by the 3rd quarter. The game feels like three years long, at that point.
We don’t really care about the most crucial part of super bowl Sunday, and we don’t really care who wins. Let’s be real, we pick the team who has the better colors, or cuter players, or whoever everyone else is rooting for.
Since we don’t have a clue about what’s going on during super bowl Sunday, we’re focused on the players more so than the plays. Judging what team has cuter players and who’s wearing the cooler gear is always a go-to for us non-football fans. The tight pants aren’t bad, either.
Twitter will give you any and all updates on super bowl Sunday that you could ever need. Missed a commercial? It’s on Twitter. Missed an epic play? It’s on Twitter? Halftime Show memes? Twitter.
Quite frankly, super bowl Sunday probably adds a few pounds to our waistlines. After our initial snacking, we go back for some more…and some more…and then some more. The abundance of buffalo chicken dip will last the entire game, and you’ll find us at the snack table at almost every other play.
