Fun Things To Do On Father’s Day This Year
Father’s Day comes around every year and while it is always an amazing day to celebrate Fathers, sometimes it’s hard to figure out what you, your dad, and your whole family should do; seeing as it’s usually a whole family or household affair. It can be even harder to narrow down some choices when all of you are adults and you can’t really make something in school like you would when you were little. But taking the family out for a fun activity that your dad is sure to love would be the perfect way to show dad that you appreciate all that he does on Father’s Day. So, here are some fun things to do on father’s day this year
1. Take Dad To A Baseball Game:
For one of the most popular fun things to do on father’s day go for a trip to a baseball field. If your dad loves baseball, take him out to see a game. If not everyone in your family is a huge baseball fan, then it’s a good thing that one of the most popular pastimes now has something for everyone. There’s plenty of food and drinks, tons of souvenirs and usually, in a lot of fields, there are also contests and side games. Be sure to at least get a ballpark hot dog or a burger and fries because it kind of comes with the territory of sitting and watching the game. A lot of times, just chilling at a baseball game is super fun and is a great way to kick off the summer season and an even better way to celebrate Father’s day. I’m sure dad would love to see his favorite team and of course, he will love the memories he’ll make with you.
2. Play Laser Tag:
Laser Tag is a fun activity to do any time of the year but it’s especially fun when you can go with dad and the whole family. Laser Tag is also fun for most people because it’s something a lot of people don’t get to do often, or sometimes don’t even think to do, and it gets everyone’s adrenaline pumping. This is another activity that would be great to spark a little competition going between the family or in order to set up a friendly wager or bet because you can often pick a teammate or set up specific groups of teams. If your local laser tag place doesn’t let you do that you could always forge your own alliances with your siblings or dad himself. This would totally be one of the best fun things to do on father’s day this year, in my opinion.
3. Go To A Brewery:
For another fun thing to do on father’s day this year, go spend the afternoon or night at a brewery. This would be a fun day that any dad is sure to enjoy. The atmosphere of a brewery would make for a fun and interesting day for everyone in your family who is over 21. Breweries have a wide selection of beer and sometime ciders, wine and other drinks so you should be able to find a beverage that will fit everyone’s varied tastes buds. There also are snacks and sometimes Breweries even have meal selections or whole restaurants attached. So you could definitely make a whole night out of this father’s day activity.
4. Plan A Family Game Night:
Family game nights are always fun (if you steer away from monopoly) and it would be even more fun and meaningful if you planned the whole night for dear old dad and your whole family. You could play some outdoor lawn games like lawn darts or bocce if the weather is nice. Then when the sun goes completely down, bust out the board games and a deck of playing cards or get ready to play charades or Pictionary. No matter the family game, it will be fun to spend some quality family time on dad’s special day. It definitely is one of the best, fun things to do on father’s day this year, or any year.
5. Go Bowling:
Nothing beats some friendly competition between the family, am I right? Get ready to put on those oh so stylish bowling shoes and take dad out for a night of bowling. Bowling is a fun activity that almost everyone can do and will enjoy, at least for the night. After your done with the fun activity of bowling go out to eat for some greasy burgers and fries. Because dad will love it and it’s what you do after a night of bowling.
6. Attend A Car Show:
Spring and Summer are the seasons of car shows! What perfect way to celebrate Father’s day than on a nice day out in the sun while looking at some really cool old cars. A lot of car shows also have food or other activities going on around the area so it would definitely be a fun event to explore. Be sure to ask the owners of the cars about their vehicles. That’s what they’re there for and it would be cool to learn some new knowledge about older cars with your dad.
7. Go Camping:
If your family is a camping bunch, then planning an early summer camping trip would be one of the most fun things to do on father’s day weekend. Summer camping trips are always the best. It doesn’t matter where you go or if you’re in a tent or a really nice RV. The memories you make around the fire pit or while you’re all hiking through the woods are what matters most, especially when it comes to the special father’s day camping trip.
8. Do A Cooking Class:
Who doesn’t love food? Who also wouldn’t love learning how to make their favorite meal or recipe? Exactly, everyone would love this so taking dad to a cooking class would be something amazing to do on father’s day. This really would be one of the most fun things to do on father’s day, trust me. Learn how to bake bread, make homemade pasta, or how to make delectable smoked ribs. It doesn’t matter what you make so long as it’s delicious and you have a great time doing it. So, take your dad out to learn a new cooking skill or two. You both will have an amazing time trying something new and, of course, eating the food you made afterward.
9. Golf/Mini Golf:
‘Tis the season of golf. For another classic fun thing to do on father’s day this year, definitely try out golf. This is such an iconic dad sport that I’m sure dad would love to play golf with you any day let alone on Father’s Day. I’m also sure he wouldn’t mind playing an extra round if you drive the golf cart for him (which in my opinion is the most fun part). If you don’t have golf clubs, or if your family just happens to not be the golf playing type, Then a fun day of mini-golf would also be perfect. You’ll get the same competitive edge that comes along with golf, but you’ll also get less of the walking and a bit of a more chill vibe since it’s more of a game than a sport. You might miss the golf carts that come with regular golf, but both of these golfing options for father’s day are good ones.
