Fun Halloween Crafts To Make This Season
Halloween is just around the corner and who doesn’t love to be creative and create their own decorations or clothes! This article will go through crocheted crafts, DIY projects, and cute decorations you can make for your Halloween decorations.
1. Crocheted Pumpkin
This is a cute way to have a cute pumpkin as decoration all year round, without worrying about it going bad and rotting on your front porch or in your house.
This pattern is five inches wide and four inches tall, but videos and patterns for other sizes can be found.
For this project, you will need:
Worsted Weight Yarn in orange and brown.
You can find this with Red Heart Super Saver Yarn or your preferred brand. You can also experiment with the colors of your pumpkins if you want more fall or pastel colors.
5mm Crocheted Hook (change out if you decide on a different type of yarn)
Scissors
Stitch markers, or you can simply use bobby pins. Anything to mark your spot, which helps when crocheting Amigurumi.

2. Lost Souls Skull Shawl
This is a spooky, beautiful shawl mixed in one, perfect to wear out during your favorite spooky season.
This shawl can be styled with anything because of how casual it is and is perfect for the holiday. You can choose the color you crochet with, or if you want to experiment by choosing more than one color.
For this project, you will need:
5mm crochet hook
Caron Simply Soft Yarn (or any yarn you want to substitute this with)

3. Book Page Garlands
This is an adorable garland you can make at home for decorating and save you the stress of finding the perfect vibe of garland.
What you need for this project:
Book pages, scrapbook paper, or construction paper
Pencil
Craft Scissors
Hole punch
String
Mini clothespins
You can be creative with the shapes of your ghosts by making up your own or googling a template to use. You can also experiment with the size you want for your ghosts; you can go as small or as big as you want.
Now, cut out as many as you want once you have the shape of your ghosts! This can be tedious while you cut out so many, so put on your favorite scary movie and make it fun.
Once your ghosts are cut out, this is where the hole punch comes in. You’ll use this to punch out eyes for your ghosts, and you can put them wherever you want. If you don’t have a hole punch, take a marker and draw your eyes on it for the same effect!
Now, you can glue or use those mini clothes pins to clip your ghosts to your string. Make the string as long as you need it to.
4. Haloween Yarn Garland
This is such a fun project, and you don’t even have to have the normal crocheting materials. We will go over the ghosts on this garland first, but you can find videos on making the pompoms for the pumpkins and spiders.
For this project, you’ll need:
White yarn
Scissors
String
4″x4″ cardboard scrap (or however big you want your ghost)
Black Fabric paint
You’ll start by taking that cardboard and your white yarn. you will wrap your yarn around that cardboard, right through the middle from the top. You will wrap it as many times, depending on how big you want your ghosts to look and the size of your yarn.
Once you like the size and amount of yarn you want, take a piece of yarn and tie it underneath your collection of yarn, tying it at the top. Once it’s tied, take this off of the cardboard. This can be used to tie to your string after!
To help shape the ghost’s head, you can use a balled-up piece of fabric, tissue, or cotton ball at the top. Tie this off to create the ball effect. Now, all you need to do is create the body by cutting the bottom of the ghost and trimming it to make the ends even.
All that’s left is to tie your ghosts on your string, and like the previous project, the amount of ghosts and length of garland is up to you!
5. 3D Halloween Bats
This project is so simple but effective in giving off that Halloween vibe!
What you’ll need:
Black cardstock, folder, or any thick paper you want to use.
Scissors
Bat template or you can create your own!
Adhesive of your choice
Once you have your projects, this is similar to your book ghost garland from earlier. You will just need to get comfortable and start cutting out some bats!
Once you have a good collection, you can fold your bats in the middle and start sticking them to the wall. You can stick as many as you’d like and create how big of a flock you have.
