Fun Breakfast Recipes To Try When You Have Actual Time In The Morning

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day; but oftentimes with busy schedules, in and out of the home, preparing a filling and delicious breakfast tends to fall by the wayside. What happened to the mornings full of stacks of pancakes, loads of french toast, and mountains of eggs? Be prepared to bring breakfast back on those mornings when you have a little extra time with these classic breakfast recipes.

1. French Toast:

French toast gives you that perfect weekend breakfast or brunch feel and is one of the best breakfasts to make if you have some time in the morning. Really nothing quite beats the sweet, buttery bread after you’ve just slept in and are waking up totally refreshed. To make this breakfast lean even more towards the sweet side, stuff the bread with Nutella, bananas, cinnamon sugar, or strawberries and cream. Other berries like blueberries or blackberries would be perfect additions to the top of your french toast tower. Just don’t forget to complete your masterpiece with a generous helping of maple syrup.

2. Biscuits and Gravy:

If you prefer a filling and savory breakfast, then look no further than biscuits with creamy sausage gravy. This classic southern-inspired meal will leave you feeling ready for a food coma, so make sure you have some actual time to relax throughout the day. You can also pair this dish with scrambled eggs, bacon, and even fried chicken (if you want to get really southern). This dish would be a perfect addition to your weekend brunch table or it could leave you leftovers throughout the week if you have some time to make this recipe in the morning before work.

3. Buttermilk Pancakes:

Classic buttermilk pancakes will always be a lazy morning favorite. When one thinks of relaxing at home on a Sunday morning, with loads of time to whip up something good for breakfast, I think pancakes are one of the first breakfast foods that come to mind. This kind of pancake is even better if you have a griddle to make them on. I don’t know why, I think that might just be some weird pancake science, but they are so good when cooked on a griddle I’m not complaining. No matter how you make buttermilk pancakes, they are always fluffy, delectable, and of course super buttery. Be sure to add some more butter and syrup to the top of your stack to finish off this work of edible art.

4. Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches:

I think we can all agree that croissant breakfast sandwiches are superior to all other breakfast sandwiches. For starters, the flakey, buttery croissant is the perfect vehicle for all of the breakfast fixings that you want to stuff your sandwich with. You can do the classic combo of ham, egg, and cheese, or you could sweeten up the sandwich with some brown sugar bacon paired with, eggs, cheese, and some maple syrup. Add some tomatoes and avocado for some vegetables and a bit of healthiness to this sandwich to balance out your morning. The possibilities are endless. You can even make extra of this recipe to save for days of the week where you might be a little bit busier and can’t take the time to relax while enjoying your sandwich. It’ll still taste beyond delicious though.

5. Ham, Egg, and Cheese Quiche:

When thinking of classic breakfast combos, ham, eggs, and loads of cheese come to mind. It really is the most dynamite trio. One of the best breakfast recipes that you can make with these ingredients is a ham, egg, and cheese quiche. It’s like a delectable, savory breakfast pie with a buttery and flaky crust. This quiche is creamy, filling, and totally delicious. Plus, this recipe makes extra for later and stays pretty well in the fridge meaning you’ll have this breakfast dish for a couple of days. If you’re feeling it you can add some other things to the quiche, like broccoli, onions, or bacon.

6. Crepes:

Getting back to amazingly sweet breakfasts, crepes are sugary and delicious but take time and a little bit of skill. But you can still use an easy crepe batter consisting of eggs, milk, flour, butter, water, and salt and to make these delicacies. Once the crepes are done, you can eat them with a sprinkling of powdered sugar or stuff them with delicious flavors like Nutella and bananas, strawberries and cream, as well as berry compotes. If you really want to feel like you’re out to eat at a nice restaurant while staying at home, this is the breakfast recipe for you.

7. Homemade Corn beef Hash:

Ditch the canned corn beef hash and make this fresh, delicious homemade corn beef hash instead. I get for a lot of people this is an acquired taste, but with many different variations to this dish, you’ll be able to make the version that’s right for you and acquire the taste. You can use sweet potatoes and add some honey or syrup to give it a sweet and savory vibe. Or you can use the classic white potatoes and add some onions, celery, and carrots, to let this side dish shine as the main meal. The prep for this meal is well worth the end result. You will not be disappointed!

8. Eggs Benedict:

Another favorite breakfast recipe that is commonly adored by many is Eggs Benedict. When thinking of Eggs Benedict, I can’t help but think of an early breakfast on a Saturday morning at the local diner. But luckily, you can make this breakfast recipe without leaving your house (besides getting the ingredients, of course). For classic Eggs Benedict, use English muffins, Canadian bacon, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. If you want to add a more modern flare you can also incorporate avocados or crab cakes. This is another dish that won’t let you down and will start your morning off on the right foot.
