Fruit salads are a refreshing burst of energy and serve as a healthy snack at any time of the year, but there is something especially tasty about a fruit salad in the summer. Convenient to pack for work, school, or even put in your bag if you have a long drive ahead of you. Packed with antioxidants and nutrients, this food will give you more than enough energy to take on the day! Most of the ingredients mentioned in this article do not take more than 10 minutes to make the fruit salad, or cost more than $20.00 per recipe. When it comes to fruit, our bodies need at least one cup (or equivalent) a day. Let’s get started with fruit salads to make this summer 2020.
I’m sure we have all heard this saying once before, but truthfully, we are supposed to eat like this. For your fruit salad, be sure to include kiwi, grapes, watermelon chunks, pineapple, strawberry, mango, and blueberries. This will give you an abundance of flavor, and plus, it is super pretty. For a dressing, with any of these fruit salads, you can squeeze a lemon, lime, or orange juice. The juice is a fresh and natural way to add some sweetness and some zest to the recipe, but enjoy it! I actually made this fruit salad the other day and brought it to work with me, and it was a delicious and refreshing snack! Enjoy all of the fresh fruits that come with this recipe!
For this fruit salad, there are few ingredients. To begin, you’ll need blackberries, blueberries, dragon fruit cut into pieces, and (optional), mango. You’ll get a pretty blend of colors, but also dragon fruit is a mild flavor and interesting texture. Many of us do not realize it, but dragon fruit is loaded with fiber and can help balance your internal gut bacteria. There are some health benefits to the seemingly flavorless fruit! I honestly wish I ate more of dragon fruit.
Everyone loves some strawberry and banana, right? For this creation, you’ll need sliced banana and strawberries, as well as blueberries. This recipe does not have too much variety, but it is quick if you’re in a rush, and still delivers plenty of nutrients. An optional step is to sprinkle chia seeds over as a healthy topping, but you don’t have to. It is like a strawberry banana smoothie, only eating the fruits directly, although I certainly love sipping it through a straw. Enjoy this healthy snack throughout the summer months!
For this recipe, you’ll need watermelon cut up, sliced strawberries, grapes, and cantaloupe. Fruits like watermelon have a lot of hydrating properties. Sometimes we forget the importance of filling up on fruits! The natural sugar in fruit will keep you energized and feeling alert, even though there isn’t any protein. Whatever you have planned for this weekend, whether it be a barbeque or a home-cooked meal, fruit salad is always a great addition. Besides, who can beat that vibrant color scheme?
For this next fruit salad, you’ll be using sliced apple, kiwi, grapes, mango, and pomegranate seeds. This recipe has all of the best nutrients that we desire out of a dish. With so many fruits combined, your taste buds won’t be getting bored. Apples are considered superfoods, which give you many different antioxidants, in turn, giving you lots of energy. Kiwi and mango complement each other with the level of sweetness, kiwi being on the sour side and mango being on the sweet side. Many people may not realize how many amazing fruits there are out there to try, and a fruit salad is such a great way to have all of those nutrients. Adding the lemon juice will also add an extra blend of sweetness, plus the benefits of lemon, too.
For this fruit salad recipe, you’ll need pineapple, grapes, blueberries, and blackberries. Blueberries are a superfood, which gives you plenty of antioxidants, resulting in more energy and alertness. This perfect blend of sweet and sour has all of the nutrients you need to power through your day! In addition, many people may not realize this (as I did not either), but blackberries help support brain and oral health along with vitamin C. Of course, eating fruits and vegetables helps decrease our risk of cancers in a general sense, but pineapple specifically helps lower the risk of getting cancer. In addition, pineapple is great for restoring muscles after working out! Who knew? Restore, replenish, and fill up with this abundance of healthy fruit.
For this last fruit salad, I may have given away the primary ingredients! Kiwi is very sweet, and so are blueberries. Mind you, if you dislike any of these ingredients you can swap it for something you do like, and the same applies if you have an allergy. Apples are great in fruit salads, as they are another superfood. Blueberries are a great superfood, providing us with lots of energy. There really is a direct correlation between the way that we feel and the foods we eat. The healthier we eat, the better we feel and the less tired that we feel throughout the day! Sometimes preparing fruit salads and other time-consuming meals can be hard, but I find that if I prepare the food the night before, all I have to do is grab it and go come the next morning, and it really makes my routine that much more simple. Sometimes it is worth rethinking your routine to add something like this!
