You Play Up Your Local Status During Coachella

Coachella is one of the biggest outdoor music festivals in the world and it is right in your backyard! Besides getting access to locals only tickets the weekend before the event, it’s pretty cool not having to worry about a place to stay during the festival. Whether its hyping it up or complaining about the extra traffic, you’ve always got something to say during the two weekends in April that Coachella takes place in.

Rain is A Pretty Big Deal

The average yearly rainfall in Greater Palm Springs is less than 3 inches, so when it rains everyone takes notice. Because the area is located in a desert valley, the combination of rainwater from the mountains and sand being unable to retain any of the water coming in creates the perfect environment for flooding. What does that mean for locals? Flooded, closed streets everywhere and a much needed break from the sun!

Whether its hiking alongside the San Andreas Fault or admiring the waterfall at Tahquitz Canyon, the natural desert landscape is always awe-worthy. This is one of the true things you will recognize you are from Palm Springs!
