10 Free Things To Do Around Western Michigan University

Sometimes as a college student, there are some things you get bored of such as partying and binging on Netflix. Well, this is the best answer for you to handle that boredom! Use that time to explore 10 free things to do around Western Michigan University.

1. Miller Auditorium

You can go to Miller Auditorium to see a great performance by WMU owns theater department or see upcoming tours coming into town who will perform there as well. WMU offers students on campus half off or free admission.

 

2. University Arena

The Universities Arena is where any student can go and watch any sports event for free. Whether it is Volleyball, Basketball, Track, etc. All students are allowed at the events.

3. Kalamazoo Valley Museum

The Kalamazoo Valley Museum is where the history of Kalamazoo is based, as well as some fun and creative activities. Visiting the museum is free for WMU students if an I.D is proved.

4. Kalamazoo Institute of Art

The institute of Art has some amazing art pieces produced by the community, as well as the WMU owns Art department.

5. Air Zoo

If you ever want to find something to do on a sunny Sunday afternoon, then the air zoo is where you want to be. WMU college of aviation allows friends, family, as well as other members of the community to be able to learn about the programs offered at the college of aviation. There is also time to get to see the creations and plans that the students and staff members have been working on.

 

6. Kalamazoo River Valley Trail

Ever hear the saying just walk it off? The Kalamazoo River Valley Trail allows you to do just that. The path and the environment around is just the place you want to be.

If you ever want to see a hockey game, or go enjoy free skating or swimming lesson the Lawson Ice Arena is just the place you want to be.

Chillax is a place where students who are stressed, worried overwhelmed, or have anxiety about something can go and learn practices, as well as task that can help them relax and enjoy their day.

9. Organization Events

Mostly every week there is an organization hosting and putting on events for the entire university. You can find out about these events on social media or visiting the Student Organization office in the Bernhard Center.

10. Recreation Center

The recreation center is for the whole Kalamazoo community and is a free and open space for all.
