7 Fourth Of July Recipes You Have To Try

What’s red, white and blue all over? Our favorite Fourth of July recipes. (Well, most of them anyways.) If you’re in search of something that will light up taste buds like fireworks, you’ve come to the right place. Whether it’s something sweet or salty, an entree to grub on or a snack to nibble on, we’ve got 7 awesome Fourth of July recipes for you to try.

1. Fruit Salad

This recipe gives you a lot of room to improvise and is a perfect healthy option in a Fourth of July feast. All you need are some star-shaped cookie cutters and red, white and blue fruits. For red, watermelons, strawberries and raspberries are perfect. Blueberries and blackberries make up the blue. You can use apples or bananas for the white. Slice up the fruit, toss them in a bowl and mix! If you’re feeling extra festive, use a star-shaped cookie cutter for the watermelon or bananas.

2. Ice Cream Sandwiches

This Fourth of July recipe can be done one of two ways depending on how much work you want to do. For the first option, all you need are ice cream sandwiches from the ice cream section at your grocery store and red, white and blue sprinkles. Unwrap the sandwiches and press the sides of it with some sprinkles and voila! You’ve got a festive and fun treat for kiddos and adults alike.

If you want to customize it a bit more, you can make your own ice cream sandwiches. Purchase (or bake!) your favorite cookies and ice cream flavors, make your sandwiches and roll the sides on some red, white and blue sprinkles. This one has a few extra steps, but your taste buds will be thanking you.

3. Cuban Sliders

This recipe doesn’t involve any red, white and blue, but it’s so stinkin’ good, we’re including it in our list of favorite Fourth of July recipes. Sliders are the perfect food to serve at any party and easy to make. All you need are slider buns, Swiss cheese, ham, dill pickles, and mustard. Assemble, bake till the cheese is melted, and serve. This is so delicious and your guests will have emptied the dish before you know it.

4. Nachos

Nachos are a totally customizable dish that is always a hit at parties. Grab some blue and white corn tortillas. Shred some chicken. Throw in red bell peppers, white onions, and tomatoes. Melt your favorite white cheese and you’ve got a red, white and blue plate of nachos. If you’re not so committed to the red, white and blue theme, toss in some jalapeños or guacamole for added flavor.

5. Flag Sheet Cake

This is a classic at any Fourth of July party and you’ve probably seen them all over Instagram. It can look complicated but give it a try and you’ll immediately add it to your options for Fourth of July recipes. Bake up a white cake, from scratch or a mix, in a large rectangular pan and let it cool. Frost the entire thing in white frosting. On the upper-left corner, place some blueberries in a small rectangle. Use some finely slices strawberries for the red stripes and leave some space for the whites ones. If you’re feeling ambitious, aim for 50 blueberries and 13 red and white stripes!

6. Buffalo Chicken Sliders

Another slider recipe because they’re just that great. All you need are five ingredients for this Fourth of July recipe: chicken breasts, buffalo sauce, dry cole slaw or thinly sliced cabbage, blue cheese dressing and slider rolls. Cook your chicken in a slow cooker with water and hot sauce. Right before the party, shred the chicken, stir in some more hot sauce, and place on your buns. Top with the remaining ingredients, drizzle on the dressing and serve. Yep, that easy.

7. Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods

This is #1 on our list of fool-proof Fourth of July recipes. All you need are some giant pretzel rods, white chocolate and red and blue food coloring. Melt up your white chocolate and separate into three bowls. Add red food coloring to one, blue to another and keep the final one white. Now, decorate! You can dip or drizzle your pretzels and really have fun with it. If you have some sprinkles lying around, toss some on while the chocolate is wet. This is super customizable and super easy.
