12 Fourth of July Outfit Ideas You Need To Copy
Need a Fourth of July outfit? Holidays are the best time to get creative with your closet. There are so many unique looks you can wear to show off your patriotic pride! Between patches, paint and denim there are so many ideas for you here, (of course all revolving around red, white, and blue). So, what’s your style going to be this July?
Painted Denim
Painted stars and stripes on denim shorts have to be one of my favorite looks for the Fourth of July. Painted back pockets are a really popular look, but there are so many different directions you can go with this look. Some people choose to paint the front of the denim shorts, making the entire left side full of stripes and the entire right side with stars. Others have cut rips in the denim right above the pockets and painted the inner pockets with stars and stripes so that they stick out through the rips. Don’t be afraid to get creative with it!
Jean Patches
Bring back the ’60s with throwing on some adorable patches to your favorite jeans! This look is so unique and creative, you’ll be getting compliments all day long. “Oh, I made them!” You’ll find yourself saying that way too often when wearing these jeans. My favorite look for this style is taking light denim flare jeans and going down one side with American flag patches, and the other with simple white star patches (as seen below). Some other great ideas include red, white, and blue heart patches or sewing simple red, white, or blue lines on top of the seams.
USA Attire
USA anything. This look is so easy and so cheap to pull together. First off, denim goes great with anything over the summer whether you’re wearing denim shorts, skirts, jeans or even overalls. With denim shorts, throw on a “USA” t-shirt. This could be baggy and tucked in, or cropped and showing off your tan stomach. With jeans or a skirt, I think making a “USA” t-shirt into a tube top gives off a fun and flirty look and will definitely keep you cool during the hot weather. There are so many different ways to wear a “USA” shirt, you could even change your style throughout the day.
Bikini
Headed to a pool party? We’ve got the perfect look for you. Red, white, and blue bikinis are so trendy. They’re the go-to outfit for when you want to look cute but also want to hang out in the pool! High-waisted bikinis have become so popular lately and tuck away a little extra stomach area. Another cute bathing suit idea is a one-piece. One-piece suits are no longer for people who want to be a little more conservative. Nowadays, there are so many sexy one-piece bathing suits out there, go see for yourself!
Oversized T-Shirt
Stay comfy this Fourth of July with an oversized t-shirt. There are so many different ideas you can do with this. A personal favorite of mine is a large t-shit with white mid-calf socks and white platform sneakers. Now, not every oversized tee has to include red, white and blue. Maybe you want to wear a completely blue tee with your white shoes and a red ribbon in your hair, or maybe you look better in red and you throw a blue headband on. Adjust this look to your individual style and you’ll be amazed how much you stand out!
Hair Accessories
Sometimes, what you put in your hair can pull the entire outfit together. Red, white, and blue hairpieces are essential to spice up any Fourth of July outfit. If you wear denim shorts, a white cropped shirt and an American flag hair accessory, you’ve got a festive yet trendy outfit. My favorite type of hair accessories is the newly popular scarf pony’s. A scarf pony is just a scrunchie with a ribbon that hangs down from it. Red, white, and blue, or even American flag printed scarf pony’s will complete and basic look that needs a little spice.
Baseball Caps
Another way to spice up a simple look is with a baseball cap. If you’re going comfy or casual, a baseball cap can pull it all together. No matter if it’s solid red, white, or blue or if it has a saying. Another great addition to a solid cap is to sew on a patriotic patch! Caps with sayings are a huge statement piece to wear, as people will be reading whatever’s written on your head. Whether your repping “Made in America,” or “Make America Great Again,” your hat will be the topic of conversation. What will your cap say?
Bandana Top
These are super creative and trendy. This look is a bit more scandalous than the rest, so be careful where you’re strutting off to in this. Take any red, white, or blue bandana and follow along to this video. Besides solid colors, you can also use an American flag printed bandana! These are great for college parties, beach or pool parties, or anywhere with hot temps and a younger crowd.
Flannel
I love flannels. I know they’re typically an autumn look, but a red, white, and blue flannel is just what you need this Fourth of July. It might be too hot to actually put on, but the best way to wear a flannel during the summertime is wrapped around your waist. Cute white shorts, a grey tank and a flannel tied around your waist is an adorable look without even trying. Throw a white scarf pony in your hair to complete the look! How will you be wearing your patriotic flannel?
Tie-Dye
Tie-dye is a great look for the Fourth. Red, white and blue tie-dye looks like just like a firecracker ice pop, how festive! Take a white t-shirt and follow along to this video to learn how to create these flawless tie-dye patterns. Whether you chose to make an oversized tee, a crop top, tank top, or even a pair of cloth shorts, this look will leave you getting compliments all day long. What are you going to dye?
Overalls
Overalls are back in style! They’re super comfy and great for hot summer days. Wear your mini-denim overalls with a white crop top underneath. A great idea, as pictured below, is to sew or iron on a patch, if you’re feeling extra festive. Patches of the American flag, stars, or any type of red white or blue shapes can make this look unique to you. If you’re feeling extra creative, cut off the overall straps and replace them with red and white suspenders (also seen below). Forget what they used to say about overalls, they’re back, baby!
Romper/Sundress
The cutest way to stay comfortable this Fourth of July is with red, white, and blue rompers or sundresses. These allow for air to flow through your clothing, rather than wearing tight apparel. Wear with a cute pair of sandals, and of course feel free to throw on a scarf pony! Check out Princess Polly for some of the most stylish dresses around.
