If you’re anything like me, you absolutely love to eat. Anytime of the day, anywhere, while doing mostly anything. The one thing guaranteed to be on your mind is food. But who wants to eat the same boring thing over and over again? Not me, that’s for sure! I’m here to give you the inside scoop on a special place nearby that is sure to give your taste buds a treat. (Hope you like doughnuts!)
Going to school in Queens has given me the opportunity to venture out to new places, every chance that I get. Manhattan is just one of those places that is a foodies heaven. On every street corner you can find a new treat to try that you’ve never even heard of before. Even though this is the case, did you know you could find just as many great places right here in Queens?
One of the many yummy places I have ventured to is that by the name of “Doughnut Plant,” located in the Falchi Building at 31-00 47th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. With its walls covered in shiny black subway tile, it gives the feeling of a modern subway station, while being right at home in Queens. Their vivid doughnut wall is nothing short of depictive of the actual doughnuts that are sold – bright, and colorful.
Their doughnuts may be a bit on the pricey side, but considering the quality and taste, they’re nothing short of amazing. What sets them apart from every other doughnut place you may ask? Well for starters, they only use the highest quality, all natural ingredients. Every single doughnut is made fresh daily including their homemade jam fillings. With no trans fat, eggs, preservatives, artificial flavorings, or colors, they truly set themselves apart from the rest.
Some of their extraordinary flavors include Triple Chocolate Mint, Valrhona Chocolate, Vanilla Bean and Blackberry Jam, Coconut Cream and many, many more. They even have specials during different holidays and special times of the year. My advice? Give this place a try, they dough-not disappoint.
