Long Island is home to approximately seven million people. That’s a pretty large number of people for a relatively small island. It’s no wonder why we have such amazing food places – these people need to be fed with something! The stereotypical answer would be that it’s all pizza and bagel shops, and while we do have a lot of those, we have plenty of other delicious food places. Should you ever find yourself on Long Island, be sure to check these food places in Long Island out!
This little diner-style place has incredible food. From breakfast, to drinks, to milkshakes, to tacos, Flo’s has something for everyone to enjoy.
This quaint cafe in Mattituck serves delicious comfort meals, as well as great coffee, bakery items, and more. There’s nothing quite like taking a leisurely ride out to Love Lane on a Sunday morning for some coffee and breakfast.
If you have a major sweet tooth, you have to try this place. It’s a new dessert shop in Patchogue that is famous for its rolled ice cream. However, they also serve chocolate lava cake, tiramisu, coffee, shakes, and more. Everything here is also made to order, so it’s always fresh and delicious.
This Italian place is one of my personal favorites. It’s set in a log cabin, which gives it a nice upscale rustic vibe – and their food matches their ambiance. There’s a lot of Italian places on Long Island, but this one is one of the best.
If you’re in the mood for Mexican, you have to go here. This restaurant has live music, amazing food, and great drinks. If you love Mexican food, you’re going to love this place.
This Japanese hibachi restaurant is another one of my personal favorites. If you sit on the hibachi side, it makes for a fun, entertaining time. If you sit on the dining side, it makes for a relaxing and enjoyable time. No matter where you sit, however, you’re sure to get delicious food (might I recommend the chicken teriyaki or any of their sushi rolls.)
Finding a really good Chinese food place isn’t always the easiest task, at least in my case. But, after dining at Ancient Ginger last New Year’s Eve, I was sold. Everyone I went with ordered something different and everyone loved everything they got. If you’re into Chinese food, definitely check this place out.
This Mexican place in Patchogue has delicious food for amazing prices. I typically have the chips and queso to start and then order the buffalo chicken tacos – yum!
This place is popular for a few reasons – great drinks, great food, and a beautiful rooftop lounge. I went here to celebrate my friends’ 21st birthday and was not disappointed. Side note – you have to try the fries, they are to die for! Try this for one of the many food places in Long Island.
I actually went to this place for the first time about a month ago on a first date and it was perfect. It’s nice, yet casual inside so it’s not too romantic, but also not overly casual either. We shared one of their delicious coal fired pizzas and we both loved it. It’s also in the town of Port Jefferson, so you can walk around the town and go in and out of the shops and down by the water after you eat. You cannot go to NY without getting pizza from these food places in Long Island.
