Taylor Swift usually has a process when it comes to preparing her fans for the release of a new album. There is always some anticipation and a change in her social media aesthetic. All of a sudden, on July twenty-third, she shared that her eighth album would be released soon. None of us were prepared and had no idea what to expect. Needless to say, “Folklore” has yet to disappoint.
Here are some outfits inspired by her new album that’ll give you major Taylor Swift vibes!
1. The 1
Taylor starts her newest album off strong with “The 1.” This song has certainly sparked debate amongst her fans in regards to certain words within the song, but a quick search for the lyrics quickly solves the dispute! Many twenties-inspired outfits could result from these lyrics but if you pay close attention, copper has its place in this song. This Folklore outfit is inspired by the “pennies in the pool” line and if you choose to try this outfit out for yourself, you are guaranteed to turn some heads!

Not only was “Cardigan” the first music video off of Taylor Swift’s newest album, but a special cardigan was also designed and is almost sold out on her website! While this may or may not have been the cardigan we imagined when we heard the song for the first time, there is no doubt that Taylor made it work. While this might not be an outfit Rebekah would have worn, we could all see Taylor Swift wearing this outfit around her Rhode Island home or on the beach watching the sunset. Though she does not wear these types of outfits as frequently as she used to years ago, there are still pictures of Taylor keeping it casual and comfortable with a sweater and jean shorts! If you want to channel your inner Swift, try this Folklore outfit for yourself.

Some of the songs on Folklore have a specific color mentioned or affiliated with the song as a result of the lyric videos she released along with her album. 5. My Tears Ricochet
These lyrics can be interpreted in numerous ways, but there is no argument that she mentions “burying” in this song. So it felt appropriate to include a sexy, all-black dress inspired by that very sentiment. Taylor Swift has been known to wear some amazing, low-cut black gowns in various music videos and at award shows. This dress felt perfect for a Folklore outfit as it encapsulates both the lyrics and the mood of the song perfectly!
6. Mirrorball
It was a no brainer when it came to selecting a Folklore outfit for Mirrorball. If you want to channel this song, try opting for metallic clothing items that you absolutely love! To keep the metallic look a little more subtle, choose either a skirt or top instead of overwhelming everyone else with an all metallic outfit. Black is the perfect color to pair with metallic and you can keep the look consistent by completing it with a pair of gorgeous black heels!

Hi! My name is Hannah Warren and I just graduated from Mercer University with a B.A. in English. During my time at Mercer, I studied both Creative Writing and Media Studies so I have dabbled in multiple writing genres including fiction, nonfiction, playwriting, and more! Playwrighting and nonfiction are my favorite genres because more people relate to and understand the work when it is raw, genuine, and mentions different problems that most people are familiar with or have experienced first-hand. I have a bad habit of starting projects and not finishing them, but I am proud to say I am drafting a romance novel that I hope to have published one day! Thank you for taking the time to get to know me, and I hope you will continue to read more of my little articles in the future!
