I get bored of listening to the same music over and over, and sometimes my friends insist I play an artist other than Harry Styles. So, I take the liberty of finding new artists to listen to often, and these female artists have been on loop when I go on my daily drives! Let’s dive in.
I have always loved Madison Beer’s voice, and she is absolutely stunning, too! She just released an album, Life Support, which I was obsessed with for so long. Her music is always good, I swear it’s like every song she releases is gold. Personally, I’m a huge fan of “Sour Times” and “Homesick.” She sings a mean ballad and perfectly captures any feeling she is trying to convey in a song. I also love her more upbeat songs, like “BOYSHIT,” which can make me feel super confident and make me want to forget about men.
Remi Wolf has been my latest female artist find. Her song “Disco Man” has been my go-to shower song when I’m getting ready. She has such a funky sound, making her music so unique. You’re guaranteed to at least want to vibe with your friends on a sunny day or feel like you’re a posh, sophisticated independent woman. I’m serious, you’ll know what I’m saying when you hear the beats and melodies of her songs.
Noah is making her own way in the music industry lately, with a beautiful, sad-sounding voice that gets me every time. Her song “All Three” was, and I’m not joking, on repeat in my car for at least a month. She has a song for every feeling, and you’re guaranteed a bop either way. The Cyrus family is obviously super talented, and Noah is no exception. She delivers on every album she has put out there, and we are not disappointed one bit.
You probably are reading this and thinking this is actually a dumb suggestion because everyone knows Miley. I just want to put special emphasis on one of my favorite female artists because we are entering a new rockstar era with her. With the release of her album, Plastic Hearts, and two covers: “Heart of Glass” and a mashup alongside Stevie Nicks that combines her hit “Edge of Seventeen” with Miley’s “Midnight Sky,” Miley’s coming full force with bangers upon bangers for us.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, you probably know Olivia Rodrigo by now. Being hailed the next Taylor Swift, Rodrigo has released two songs that have topped the charts and become overnight sensations. Her album is bound to have heart-wrenching, head-banging songs that you will not be able to get out of your head. You’re also probably infatuated with the love triangle that is her, Sabrina Carpenter and Joshua Bassett, because let’s face it, we all are. In fact, as I write this my roommate is singing “deja vu,” so you know this is serious stuff.
Continuing on the Olivia female artists who have bangers about exes, listen to Olivia O’Brien while you’re at it. Her song “Josslyn” is an absolute bop that is basically just about your “boyfriend” or whatever you want to call it messing up and hooking up with another girl. It is so good, and rumor has it is that it is about Logan Paul. You’ll find tons of great post-breakup, needing to recover songs that’ll have you back on your feet dancing like nothing ever happened.
I recently got into listening to Megan when I saw her perform “WAP” with Cardi B at The Grammy’s. It is super inspiring that she is dominating a normally male-dominant music industry. She is making history as one of the most viral female artists and rappers of our generation. Her success and empowering performance made me want to love my body, myself, and not let a man treat me wrong. She literally created Hot Girl Summer and is all about loving yourself. If you want a female artist who isn’t going anywhere for a long time, listen to Ms. Megan Thee Stallion.
If you were obsessed with One Direction like I was (am), you may recognize Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards, ex-fiancee of ex-One Direction member Zayn Malik. That was a lot of exes. This girl band was also formed in 2011 on The X Factor and is currently a trio of very powerful voices. My roomies and I jam out to the retro-sounding “Love Me Like You” at least once a week, and I like to listen to “Wasabi” when I get ready to go out to feel hotter.
I absolutely adore Lennon’s music, and I also know of her because she is somehow connected to One Direction. But, this girl has bangers on bangers. and she captures heartbreak in her music so perfectly. She is also only 21 years old, so you can only expect her career and music to grow exponentially in the upcoming years. I’m telling you there’s at least one Lennon song you’ll enjoy.
Ashe has been in the industry for a while, but recently gained popularity from her song “Moral of The Story,” featured in To All the Boys I Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You. When Niall Horan jumped on the track, the song grew even bigger and it soon was on every radio station in the United States at all times. Her recent collab with Finneas, “Til Forever Falls Apart,” shows just how beautiful her voice really is. Keep your eye out for more music from Ashe, you’ll also probably want to follow her on social media because she’s super funny and active.
