20 Fall Hairstyles That Will Look Fab On Your Instagram

Although it’s still warm, the seasons will be changing soon! What better way to get ready for the new weather, than with a new haircut or color? These fall hairstyles are sure to revamp your beauty and fashion looks.

1. Cut It/Big Chop

Cutting your hair as low as you can, aka “The Big Chop” draws attention to the face and is perfect for creating bold makeup looks. If you want a bit of excitement to your cut, you can add a small part. You can also dye your hair black or blonde! Or, you can go for dark red hair color for a smokey fall look.

2. Short Bob

Bobs are perfect for fall hairstyles, especially with dark colors. This look keeps your head warm but adds an edge to your style. You can soften this look with loose curls or crimps. Your bob can be asymmetrical or it can be a straight, blunt bob.

3. Fringed Bangs

70’s fringe bangs are a hot fall trend. This bang gives you a super edgy look but is also elegant. The look matches well with jeans and a t-shirt, or a cardigan and boots. During times when you need to dress up, the 70’s fringe bang will look sophisticated. If you’re searching for fall hairstyles while working, the look is also professional for the office. A turtle neck is the best top to compliment this look since it brings attention to your hair and face.

4. Mullet

A mullet that is short in the front and long in the back will also be in when the weather changes. Mullets have been worn by popular artists like Rihanna and Miley Cyrus, which solidifies it as one of the best fall hairstyles. You can wear your mullet in everyday style or you can sport the hairstyle as formal. The mullet pulls back the hair and adds focus to your facial features. This is especially beneficial for wearing a sultry makeup look that’s natural with hints of shimmer.

5. Rounded Fro

A rounded fro is a hairstyle that can easily be achieved with natural hair. Part your hair to the side and add any accessory, even flowers for a bohemian look! If you want to achieve the rounded fro look, braid your hair and leave it overnight. Unbraid your hair and tease the roots to add volume.

6. Middle Part Pony

The middle part ponytail is a staple for fall. Wear your ponytail with jeans and a tank or with an off-the-shoulder sweater. This look is bold and can be worn with smokey makeup, as well. To achieve this look, simply part your hair down the middle and be sure to keep the hair in place with gel or moose. If you need the length, add a faux ponytail once you have your base created. Add large earrings for a dramatic effect.

7. Chunky Highlights

Chunky highlights are the most popular hairstyle that pays homage to the 2000s. If your hair is brown, you can add blonde highlights to the front of your hair to match the trend for fall hairstyles. For a flowy, beachy look, add loose curls and allow them to fall. This will create a sexy, wavy look.

8. Curtain Bangs

Curtain bangs frame the face and give you a sophisticated look. This hairstyle was very popular in the ’70s and is also easy to create with a curling wand. Your part doesn’t have to be in the middle. You can have a slight side part and overlap the hair a bit so that your bangs fall from the face.

9. Braids

Braids are a protective style and allow you to create different looks in one. Individual braids keep your hair full when worn down. This style can also be moved around to create a ponytail or a high bun. You can also match braids with your natural hair color, or dye your hair first if you want to achieve a new color.

10. Slicked Back

A slicked-back look is the ultimate evening look. You can pull your hair to the back and make sure your strands are neatly placed. Add moose or gel to a comb and comb through your hair a few times. You can adjust the look by combing your fingers through your hair as well.

11. Wavy

Wavy is among the fall hairstyles that match the cool, yet warm season. You can create waves by parting your hair in sections. Loosely curl each piece until your entire head is curled. Comb through your hair with your fingers and slightly shake the curls loose. This look can be worn with jeans and a t-shirt or a mini dress.

12. Head Scarf

A headscarf is easy to find and a quick way to jump into the fall trend. You can tie your hair with a scarf that covers the top and sides of your hair. Allow your hair to fall naturally and add earrings. You can wear a scarf if your hair is long or short. You can also wear this look with waves or curls.

13. Knotted Bun

A knotted bun is a romantic fall hairstyle. You can wear this look like a lower bun or pull your hair higher. The bun doesn’t have to be perfect and flyaways are okay with this look!

14. Ombre

Ombre hair adds a warm vibe to your look. You can leave your roots a solid color and add blonde or red to the ends of your hair. You can try any color with this trend, even pink!

15. Bright Color

Coloring your hair a bright color, aside from blonde adds a fiery touch to your look. Try a color that is still manageable and simple to coordinate with your wardrobe. A bright orange-red color is a beautiful fall color that will make all of your makeup looks stand out.

16. Hair Accessories

Hair accessories can be both fashionable and functional. You can add your accessories such as hairpins and clips. The clips can help your hair stay pulled back.

17. Volume At The Roots

Voluminous roots are one of the fall hairstyles that you can wear if you want to add spunk to your look for the day. Adding volume by teasing your roots will create a frame around your face to bring out your best features.

18. 60’s Updo

In the ’60s hairstyles were very feminine with updos. A 60’s updo is a great way to have a flexible style for the day. If you need to do things throughout the day like zoom class or some physical classes, your hair will look polished. If you need to do something right after, you won’t have to worry about changing your entire hairstyle. You can wear this glam hairstyle with sequence and other sparkly/metallic pieces.

19. Half Up Half Down

A half up half down is a great way to split your hair in two so that you’re able to add personality to your look.  Try parting your hair in two sections, with a good amount at the top. Tie the hair at the top into a ponytail or use a clip to secure it in place. You can leave the bottom section of your hair straight or you can add waves with big curls.

20. Lob

AKA the “long bob,” this haircut is close to the bob which we mentioned previously, except it’s a little longer. This look is perfect for someone who wants shorter hair, but doesn’t want to chop everything off! Lobs also look great on everyone, regardless of hair type.

This upcoming season will be exciting for your tresses! With so many options to choose from, which one of these fall hairstyles do you like the most?
