10 Fall Activities You Can Do With Friends This Year
Fall is a great time of year to get outside and enjoy some fall activities with your friends. Since the weather shows a mix of cooler temperatures and warmer temperatures, there is rarely a limit to the activities you can do. All of these activities can be enjoyed by all ages, genders and nationalities.
1. Apple Picking
One of the most famous fall activities is apple picking. Most farms will open their gates for communities to come and enjoy a nice day running around orchards picking apples. It is fun for the whole family, as sometimes these farms will have little activities on the side to enjoy. For example, Toronto’s Applewood Farm Winery allows individuals to pick apples, and also allows for hayrides around their vineyard. So while the kids are selecting which apples to take home, you can enjoy a nice hayride around the farm.
2. Pumpkin Patch
Similar to Apple Picking, visiting a pumpkin patch is another of those famous fall activities. In fact, visiting a pumpkin patch just in time for Thanksgiving (Canada) and Halloween, is a great way to get your children’s spirits up. You can visit before thanksgiving to find a pumpkin suitable for your tasty pumpkin pie. Or, you can visit after the holidays to find a perfect pumpkin to carve a scary face suitable to scare the life out of someone on Halloween night.
3. Nature Walk
Fall activities for friends may also include a nature walk. Since the temperature is nice and cool, you won’t have to worry about fainting in the heat, or freezing to death. Also, since many animals are getting ready for hibernation, it will be a lot safer to walk up a trail or on the edge of a forest with friends. You can easily enjoy the crisp fall air while making a fun game out of sight-seeing.
4. Campfire
Today, some people hold fall activities in their backyards. One of these activities is holding a campfire, as they have a built in fire pit. You also do this at your local beach or recreational park. It is relaxing activity where you, and your friends can lounge around, roasting s’mores and telling fun stories until the wake of dawn. If its too cold to go outside, you can make a little fort area in your house with blankets and pillows while roasting s’mores in the oven. You can even put on the fireplace to get that extra campfire feeling.
5. Fall Festivals
Your city is bound to have a couple of fall activities such as festivals and carnivals. A famous Toronto fall festival is Oktoberfest where you can have lots of fun playing games, listening to music, going on tons of rides, and drinking beer for responsible adults. Festivals are a great time to have fun with your friends, as there are so many things to keep you entertained. It might even bring out the competitor in you.
6. Bake Goodies
One of the tastiest fall activities we have to offer is to have a baking night. Gather your friends over one Friday night and bake all the goodies you can possibly eat. If you had gone pumpkin picking or apple picking before hand, than this would be a great time to enjoy your juicy finds. Brew some coffee and tea, and you will have yourself a girls night to remember.
7. Picnic
A picnic in the park is one of many old fashion fall activities good for friends and a significant other. You can enjoy the leaves changing colour while relaxing on a comfy blanket with your closest friends. If you make it a potluck, it would be even more fun enjoying each other’s home cooking. Don’t forget to pack dessert. No picnic is perfect without a nice sweet dessert.
8. Shopping
Although it is not specific to fall, every girl considers shopping to be one of the fall activities of the season. After all, what girl doesn’t enjoy a little shopping spree with the girls. Fall is also a great time for sales as it includes back to school, Black Friday and, even a few sales to get shoppers ready for Christmas.
9. Watch A Football Game
Whether its professional or your local school, watching football is one of North America’s religious fall activities. If you haven’t experienced a football game, fall is a great time to add it to your bucket list. Sitting at home eating leftover stuffing and turkey while watching football is practically a religion. If there is no game on, take your friends outside and play a little friendly football. Who knows, maybe you will find out you are more athletic than you thought.
10. City Sight-Seeing
One of our relaxing fall activities is to take a nice walk around your city with friends. Summer can be excruciatingly hot, and you barely even breathe in winter, so taking a walk around your city is out of the question. Fall weather is perfect for you to visit that cafe your friends have been talking about, or walking the 45-minute walk to enjoy the wonders and beauty your city has to be grateful for.
