Exfoliating Products You Need In Your Life

Exfoliating is an important part of your skincare and body care routine because it clears off dead skin and any dirt or grimes your cleansers were unable to get off. It helps in various ways, one of them being that it helps your skin absorb products you put on afterward, it cleans your skin and may help balance skin tone.

It’s important that you use exfoliating products suited for your skin type, so you reap all the benefits they provide. So I’ve come up with a couple exfoliating products for dry, oily, and combination skin to assist in your skincare routine.

Shiseido Waso Soft + Cushy Polisher (Dry Skin)

This exfoliant is great for dry skin that is looking for some help with exfoliating. This cushy polisher cleanses and refreshes the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. It’s gentle on your skin so even if you’re prone to scrubbing your face as hard as you can each time, this product will still leave your skin feeling soothed and soft. This is also good for sensitive skin because of how gentle it is. It’s made from soybeans and gentle plant-based granules, so if you’re worried about how your sensitive skin will react, don’t be with this exfoliant!

I love that this is plant-based and has mostly natural ingredients. My skin feels good after using this product (and any other products that are plant-based or include mostly natural ingredients) and I feel like I can trust what is going into my skin.

NeoStrata Resurface Face Cream Plus (Dry)

This exfoliating product is great for dry skin because it contains exfoliating glycolic acid plus hydrating seed oil to prevent over-drying. It gets the dead skin cells, dirt, and grime off your face when you use it, but hydrates your skin at the same time. It is a great product if you have dry skin and want to find a good exfoliating product for your skincare routine.

I suggest using this product once or twice a month because of the chemicals in it. Pay attention to how your skin reacts, and use accordingly, but I would avoid using harsh chemicals on my face every day or every week to prevent chemical burns or irritation.

Tracie Martyn Enzyme Exfoliant (Oily)

This is an exfoliant that is on the pricier side. It’s meant for oily skin and smells great. Pineapple is an ingredient in this exfoliating product that helps to illuminate and brighten dull skin and draw out impurities from your pores. Your skin will look brighter and clearer after using for a consistent amount of time and should feel soft and smooth as you use it.

You can use this product every day because the ingredients aren’t super harsh, but remember to listen to your skin and pay attention to how it reacts to the product. I personally exfoliate my face once a week to keep my skin fresh and bright, but I know some people that use this product that use it every day. It’s all up to you, and you know your skin best, so you be the judge on that.

MD Complete Clarifying Cleanser (Oily)

This cleanser has salicylic acid and glycolic acid for a strong, dirt busting clean. The salicylic acid goes deep into your pores to clean and prevent dead skin cells from building up in them and clogging them. The glycolic acid helps to lift those dead skin cells out and away from your skin to open up your pores and leave your skin feeling and looking clean and refreshed.

It is a strong product so it is recommended to only use once a month to prevent chemical burns and to allow your skin to produce a healthy amount of oils. I personally exfoliate my skin once a week, but I use natural products that don’t have harsh chemicals. There are harsh chemicals in this product, so it works its magic fast and in one session. Be careful with this product if you decide to purchase it!

L’Oreal Pure Sugar Scrub Nourish & Soften (Oily or Combo)

I love sugar scrubs because they actually feel like they are exfoliating my skin and making a difference. They also usually smell good which is a plus from me. Sugar scrubs sweep away the dead skin cells as exfoliators do, and this product can also double as a lip scrub because harsh chemicals aren’t in the product. This product isn’t recommended for those with sensitive skin, because it will irritate your skin and is not a gentle product, so just a heads up for those with sensitive skin!

Sugar scrubs are great, but don’t overdo it! Use less than you think you need to save your product because it spreads very well and you don’t need to lather on a thick layer for it to do its job. You can always use more if you feel like it, but don’t be too generous with it.

Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peel (Combo)

This peel comes in individual packets, so you can exfoliate and enhance your skin on the go or quickly in the morning or evening as you do your skincare routine. There’s 10% glycolic acid in each wipe, which gently gets the dead skin off your face, while vitamin C works to brighten the skin and enhance your glow. The cloths are textured, so you can feel that gentle exfoliating from the wipe, which is always a plus to me when it feels like something is actually exfoliating my skin, instead of trusting the chemicals to work their magic.

I personally love this because of the convenience of the wipes. I don’t exfoliate every day because I want my skin to produce natural oils on its own and stay healthy, so I love how they put them in wipes.
