Juliet Evancho has always been the right hand to her sister and singer, Jackie Evancho. In 2015, Juliet came out to Jackie and her family as a transgender. The spotlight was on the sisters when Jackie was given the opportunity to sing the national anthem at Donald Trump’s Inauguration.

Jackie has been singing and performing since she was 10 years old and was the runner-up on the 5th season of America’s Got Talent. After the announcement that she was going to be performing for the President, many people felt like she was taking a side with Donald Trump; but that was not the case.

Jackie and her family saw this as an amazing opportunity to sing the national anthem for the country, not taking a political side. Juliet publicly shared her approval for her sister to sing the national anthem and expressed how proud she was.

The President, in his first month month of office, decided to remove the protection of transgender youth. This allowed the states to choose whether or not they support gender neutral restrooms. When this news broke out, Jackie reached out to Donald Trump. There was no response from him on meeting with her and Juliet.
