The Coachella Festival is back! Now there are quite a few music and arts festivals, but none like Coachella. Hopefully you get to experience the joy that is Coachella at least once in this lifetime. Here is everything that makes the Coachella Festival so incredible!
There is something for everyone. There’s a couple stages aside from the main stage with various acts. If you want a strictly electronic music festival experience you can see all of those acts. If you’re a hip hop fan you can see only hip hop acts. Or if you want a little bit of everything, jump around from stage to stage and mix it up. You could even discover new acts and potentially fall in love with a new band.
I’d like to think fashion week happens three times a year with Coachella being the third time. I know people think it’s just a bunch of people appropriating Native American headpieces and Hindu bindis because let’s be real a lot of festival goers do. (Don’t Appropriate!) Besides that, the fashions are amazing. I might be biased but I love the boho look and that is just the general theme of the Coachella Festival.
Doesn’t camping with your friends sound amazing? There are so many options to choose from. You can stay at Lake El Dorado. It’s a lakeside secluded area with cots and bedding so there’s no need for a sleeping bag. There are toilets and showers so you don’t have to go in the middle of the dessert somewhere. There is 24- hour concierge and private check-in. You can bring your own food and drink which is restricted on the main festival grounds.
Not everyone gets to go to the Coachella Festival let’s be honest. It’s not everyday you and all your friends get to go to one of the biggest music festivals of the year. Honestly, it’s such a privilege to be able to go. Coachella can be very expensive and if you are fortunate enough to go consider yourself lucky. I know when I was making $7.25 an hour, I could never have afforded general passes to Coachella. Honestly, I don’t think I could have afforded the cheapest tickets scalpers could offer.
There are so many food stands all over the grounds. I’m a huge foodie so I would eat everything. There are so many options to choose from. Lots of LA restaurants set up pop up shops for the festivities. Also, it’s not just American fare. At Coachella, the food ranges from authentic sushi to upscale Mexican.
Although the food at Coachella is to die for, it can get pricey everyday. So, someone came up with the bright idea for free shuttles to and from the local supermarket. If you don’t want to take a ride Coachella has tons of farmer’s markets in the campgrounds. This is a great alternative to the supermarket because you can support the local farmers while having an awesome time at the festival.
People seem to forget that the Coachella Festival is more than just a music festival. Art is a huge part of it as well. I’m not just talking about paintings. There are giant, colorful installations all around.
At the end of day 3, there is a fireworks show to close out the festival. How fun is that? I love fireworks!
