With short hair, it can be challenging to find hairstyles that work for you. Too often do you see a gorgeous hairstyle tutorial and realize that it requires more hair than Rapunzel herself. Here are 7 everyday hairstyles that are simple, cute, and most importantly, work for short hair!
Here’s how to accomplish this side braid! Create a deep part in your hair. On the larger side, start a braid. You can add pieces to the braid to create a french braid, or you can just do a regular braid.
Once you get to your ear, you can stop braiding. Use a bobby pin to secure the braid in place on the side of your head. There you have it! A simple side braid that’s cute and will keep your hair out of your face.
To make your braids look full and dramatic, tug on the sides of your braid. This hairstyle only takes a few minutes and is perfect for short hair.

This look is meant to be messy and fun, perfect for short hair that has layers that tend to fall out of braids.
To achieve this style, start by parting your hair in the middle. On each side of the part, do a french braid. French braids are when you add pieces from the side as you construct your braid.
Once you reach the back of your head, you have two choices. You can either finish the braid all the way down or you can stop short and create two adorable mini buns like the photo below!
This style is so simple and easy, it’s almost unfair how cute it is!
Begin by pulling back half of your hair. You can brush is backwards as if you were making a pony tail. Next, wrap the hair into a mini bun. Use bobby pins to secure the bun in place.
If you’d like to soften the look, you can leave out a few pieces to frame your face.
Once you get the hang of this look, you’ll want to wear it every day! Twist two pieces together from one side of your part. Repeat this on the other other side.
If you’re feeling up to it, you can even add pieces of hair as you create your twist to make it French.
Once you have your two twists, tie them together with an elastic band and you’re good to go!

This style is exactly what it sounds like! High ponytails are usually out of the question for short hair because your hair in the back isn’t long enough to stay in the ponytail.
Short ponytails are a great compromise. Gather all of your hair at the nape of your neck and secure it with a ponytail.
To spice things up, you can use a colorful scrunchy to match your outfit. You could also put a hair clip above the ponytail for a more sleek look.
This look also looks great when you have a deep side part.
On the smaller side of the part, brush your hair back and secure with a bobby pin or two. You can use more glamorous hair clips if that’s your style.
On the larger side of your part, you can tease or curl your hair to create some volume. This look is great for going out or other festive occasions.
For this style, you start with a middle part. On one side of the part, create a French twist. This is done by adding hair every time you twist one piece over the other.
Once you reach your ear, you can stop and bobby pin it in place. Repeat these steps on the other side.
