Pride week in Toronto is a huge deal. We have parades every day of that week representing the different parts of the LGBTQ+ community. This week culminates up and into a final parade that gets the whole city involves and represents the whole community together. Pride month in Toronto is June 1st-30th and the parade will take place on Sunday June 24th. Come out and spread the love!
Calling all TV show, book, movie, video game, fanatics! Fanexpo is one of the hottest events to attend in Toronto during the summer. It’s the biggest fan convention in Canada and is host to some major celebrities for its four day run. This year Fanexpo will run at the metro convention centre from August 19th-22nd. Tickets are already on sale! Come join the celebs for a weekend of panels and cosplay contests.
The Toronto Jazz Festival is pretty self explanatory. If you love jazz you gotta be there. The festival will run from June 21st – 30th this year at the Sony centre. This event is sponsored by TD and runs every year. Tickets are already on sale and the festival as some phenomenal headliners this year; both Diana Ross and Norah Jones will be in attendance and performing twice!
The Exhibition is a fair in Toronto that happens every year. Growing up as a child the emergence of the exhibition meant the end of the summer but nonetheless it was always an exciting trip. The Exhibition aka as the CNE is host to a multitude of rides, games, outlet, shops, and more importantly unique food trucks and huts. Ever try a deep fried pickle? Nows your chance. Check out the exhibition this year from August 16th to September 2nd.
Salsa in Toronto is one of Toronto’s testimonies of its multiculturalism. It’s truly one of the largest events to attend in Toronto this summer. It takes place on the booming street of St. Clair west and celebrates Spanish culture in the streets. The smell of authentic food and music fill the streets well into the late hours of the night. This year Salsa in Toronto will take place on July 6th & 7th. Come out for a night of cultural food and dance!
Rib’s speak for themselves. Who doesn’t want to spend an afternoon chowing down on the different Rib flavours that this festival has to offer. Especially in a diverse city, these rib flavours can get quite interesting. Even more special this year, the festival will be returning on the Canada day long weekend making the festival extra special and definitely one of the events to attend in Toronto this summer.
Music Festivals are all the rage here in Toronto and are probably on everyone’s Events to Attend in Toronto this summer list. The three main ones are Dreams Music Festival, Veld, and OVO. Dreams Music Festival will take place June 29th and 30th at RBC echo beach. This a music festival for those inspiring DJ’s and Electronic Lovers.
Another festival here in Toronto is Veld. Veld is also an electronic festival and takes place a little later on on August 3rd and 4th. This festival takes place a little more north of the city and Downsview park. The good thing about this festival is that it offers weekend long passes to make your experience more affordable.
