Doja Cat has numerous songs that stand out when it comes to self-confidence, but a great one to add to your baddie playlist is “Woman”. “Woman” is all about being that girl; the one who deserves to be worshipped and treated like an absolute goddess. Doja Cat sings about her justifiably high standards, with lyrics like, “You need a woman’s touch in your place / Just protect her and keep her safe / Baby, worship my hips and waist / So feminine with grace.” This song is upbeat and positive, and it’s bound to get you in a great mood.
The song “damn Right” by Audrey Nuna is all about owning who you are. Audrey Nuna sings about the rumors surrounding her and she agrees with every single one – the good, the bad, and the ugly. This song doesn’t allow us to let word of mouth get us down, but instead encourages us to take those words and turn them into our own power. On the track, Nuna sings, “Everybody talkin’ shit, and they damn right / Damn right, damn right, yeah / Damn right.” This song is super catchy with an amazing beat, and you’ll have it on repeat.
If you need a song that will have you feeling like the baddest bitch on the planet, “Bad Girls” by M.I.A. should be your go-to. “Bad Girls” is a track that is all about supreme confidence and unleashing your inner beast. Charli XCX is best known for the experimental edge she brings to any of your average pop songs. Charli XCX’s 2020 album, “how i’m feeling now” is a particularly great take of that cutthroat vibe. The song “anthems” from the album is an empowering song about feeling bored with your life and longing to experience the thrill of the city with your best friends by your side. The song immediately throws you into an intriguing beat-drop that will give you all the serotonin you need. Rihanna has plenty of empowering songs that are insanely catchy, but one of my personal favorites is “ROCKSTAR 101.” The song comes from Rihanna’s darker 2009 album release, “Rated R.” On the song, Rihanna sings about how she is an absolute rock goddess whose lifestyle is glamorous and wild, boasting unapologetic self-confidence along the way. Within the song, Rihanna sings, “Rocking this skirt / Rocking this club / Got my middle finger up / I don’t really give a fuck.” You’ll be feeling like you’re on top of the world after you listen to this track.
If you haven’t already heard Beyoncé’s 2022 album release “Renaissance,” I highly suggest that you check it out. “PURE/HONEY” is just one of the many empowering songs to come from this album. Beyoncé brings the heat on “PURE/HONEY,” a song that can be separated into two parts but is undoubtedly all about being a bad bitch with the looks, the money, and the person you want. On the track, Beyoncé sings, “Bad bitches to the left / Money bitches to the right / You can be both, meet in the middle, dance all night.”
Who would be better qualified to sing on an empowering track other than Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé? Both musical legends collaborated together in 2014 on Nicki Minaj’s “The Pinkprint” album to give us the masterpiece that is “Feeling Myself.” The song is about feeling like the hottest person alive while allowing your confidence to come out on top. Within the song are lyrics like, “Bitches ain’t got punchlines or flow / I have both and an empire also.” You’ll definitely want to add this song to your baddie playlist.
With a hunger for living a life of fulfillment, Rico Nasty brings that sense of urgency to the track “Time Flies.” The track retains those themes of believing in yourself and pushing yourself as far as you can go while making the most out of your time on this planet.
