Emmy Awards Looks We Can’t Get Enough OF
This year’s newly digital Emmy Awards amid the COVID-19 pandemic was one for the books, regardless of its virtual format. From Zendaya, to Jennifer Anniston, to Regina King, we’re here to show you the best looks of the night and the virtual red carpet.
Yara Shahidi’s Goddess Glow
One of 2 of MY favorite looks, Yara Shahidi steals the show with her custom Prada designed net gown styled with light pink crystals and the black top half. This style screams goddess vibes and it caught my eye when I first saw it. In her Instagram video showcasing the details of the dress, you can see the marvelous bling as she turns in each angle.
Yara Shahidi’s braids were one of my favorite tying elements to her outfit. Her hair looks immaculate with those braids that I need to try on my own! They bring in a sleek finish perfecting that golden hour glow which you can see below. The ends of her braids had intricate detailing, resulting in a fringe/plumage effect. This is a unique look brought to the Emmy’s this year and Yara pulled it off brilliantly.
Zendaya’s Award-Winning Look
Bringing in glamour and of course winning an Emmy for Lead Actress in Euphoria, Zendaya took thee night away with her not one but 2 breathtaking dresses. Designed by Christopher John Rogers, her first gown consisted of a black and purple twist with unique texture and style. Later, she changes into the gown in which she won her Emmy in, designed by Giorgio Armani.
Winning the Emmy award for Euphoria and being the youngest woman in history to do so, I would say her best look was when they actually announced that she had won and brought that warm, heartwarming smile!
Regina King’s Statement
Regina King brought a stunning vision to the 2020 Emmy Awards with her Schiaparelli Couture blue gown designed by Daniel Roseberry. It wasn’t just an ordinary blue, but rather an electric, eye-catching blue that made heads turn. Producing various dramatic effects, I loved to see the statement this gown made and wanted it for myself.
When accepting her award for outstanding lead actress in a limited series, Regina changed into a t-shirt with Breonna Taylor’s face on it with a pink suit on top. I loved the powerful message she gave by doing this and it’s certainly another one of my favorite looks of the night. Representing what’s right and the justice that is yet to be made, she explains in her speech how there’s a need for change.
Kerry Washington made money moves on the Emmy’s awards virtual red carpet and during her award acceptance speech. She was really impactful as she spoke of what is going on in our world and where our attention needs to be geared toward.
Julia Garner’s Modern Twist
In her all-Chanel outfit, Julia Garner brings pure elegance in her outfit giving me major Marilyn Monroe vibes. A satin blouse (pink) with matching trousers, a pearl necklace and a hairpin makes the Ozark star speak simplicity with beauty.
I loved seeing a 1900’s twist to the modern Emmy awards this year in addition to it being virtual. It is always a joy to see olden trends being brought into our current world so as to where we don’t forget about them and see their reappearance.
What I loved most about her outfit was the delicate pearls in her accessories. The hair pin and the necklace’s intricate pearl details brought in a nice touch to her outfit. I also loved the detail of her eye makeup as it brought a soft look with the pinks and the inner corner glitter.
Kerry Washington’s Show-Stopping Outfit Change
Washington got a Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special for her work in “All In The Family” and “Good Times”, along with “Simpson Lane”. Going glam in 2 stunning pieces, Kerry Washington sets the tone with an amazing strapless floral dress as well as a beaded leopard print dress afterwards. Nominated 3 times for executive producer and once for actress, her flower printed dress, designed by Oscar de la Renta, was inspired by her work in “Little Fires Everywhere”, as she quoted on her Instagram post.
Adorned with beautiful jewelry and elegant details that bring in her pieces together, the four-time nominee brought in a beautiful appearance to this year’s show. I loved seeing her portray both looks as she carried them beautifully and even brought two tastes together. The floral brings in happier and light vibes while the leopard brings a bolder look. both however bring inn Kerry’s amazing personality and will be one for the books.
Jennifer Aniston’s Signature Classy Look
Staying silky and classy, Jennifer Aniston wore a black sleeveless dress accessorized with diamonds. Her dress had elegant ruffles at the bottom as she took a confident stride to the stage. Nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress for The Morning Show, Jen stood out with her beauty and grace.
She definitely brought Rachel Green to the virtual stage with support from long-time friends Lisa Kudrow and Courtney Cox attending the virtual show with her. Although she didn’t win in her nominated category, she still managed to make a statement with her outfit.
As always, Jennifer Aniston did it again bringing in her style and taste to the Emmy’s.
Tracee Ellis Ross
How can we forget about this queen?! Her outfit is one that is hard to miss. Although she may not have won an award, her outfit was a winner in all of our hearts. Looking like the Emmy statuette hereof, her golden Alexandre Vaulthier gown was full of statements and dramatic effect. The tiered golden gown with her matching golden mask had the perfect metallic charm and shimmer with ruffles going all the way down.
Let’s not forget her stunning Jimmy Choo pumps and jewels coming from none other than Tiffany and Co.!
