We’ve all been there. We’ve all had those days when the bed is just way too inviting and soft and the world so scary and cold that you just can’t bear to get up. It’s ok. It happens to the best of us. So go ahead and call in sick today because we’re here to give you support in the form of out-of-this-world edible cookie dough recipes that you can enjoy on those gloomy days!
To make edible cookie dough as safe as possible, you’ll want to leave out regular flour which can carry bad strains of e-coli if not refrigerated. In our recipes, we use oat flour which can easily be made at home! Just take about two cups of rolled oats and toss them in a food processor or high powered blender and blend until it resembles fine flour. Use only the required amount of oat flour for your cookies!
It’s also best to leave out eggs to reduce the risk of salmonella poisoning, although salmonella (if it is present) will be on the shell of the egg, not inside the egg. If you do decide to use eggs, rinse your eggs well under very hot water.
