Everyone wants to get in shape, but the tricky part is achieving these health and fitness goals. It takes dedication and focus, but you can do it. I’ve put together nine tips and tricks to help you on your fitness journey. Let’s jump right in!
This tip is key to getting in shape and sustaining your fitness abilities. I like to set a workout schedule at the beginning of each week so I know what to expect. I try to workout at least every other day. Getting some type of physical activity every day is something everyone should strive towards.
Once you get in the habit of eating healthy, your workouts and energy will improve. Eating whole foods like oatmeal, fruits, vegetables and protein will boost your metabolism. Getting in shape isn’t about eating less, it’s about eating the right foods to fuel your body. Pinterest is a great inspiration for healthy recipes!
It’s super important to get in enough water each day. Hydration is just as important as eating healthy and working out. If you don’t get enough water everyday, your body will feel tired and your workouts won’t be as effective. Make sure to drink at least 7-8 glasses per day to feel the optimal effects.
Mixing up your workouts is key to getting in the best shape of your life. If you stick to the same boring routine every time you go to the gym, you won’t see results. Try to incorporate cardio, weights, resistance training or yoga into your routine. You might even find you like one type of workout more than another, or discover something new you love.
Finding a workout buddy makes working out so much more enjoyable! Choose someone you know will keep you accountable and drag your booty to spin class at 6 am when you know you wouldn’t go by yourself. Partner workouts are super fun too, so do some research and get fit together. You can motivate each other and embark on this fitness journey together. How cute!
Fitness watches can be a bit expensive, but trust me, it’s worth the investment. I got an apple watch a few months ago and I have been obsessed ever since. I love how it tracks my workouts, and lets me check texts and answer calls mid workout. It shows me my weekly and daily progress and rewards me when I have a long move streak. I highly recommend getting one at some point in your fitness journey.
Shopping for cute workout clothes makes me motivated to workout more. If I look and feel cute in my workout gear, I’m much more likely to get my booty to the gym. I feel 100% better when I am confident in my skin and can crush my workouts easily.
While working so hard, don’t forget to treat yo’ self! If you reach a certain fitness goal, for example hit your goal of working out five days this week, reward yourself with a trip to the mall, or dinner at your favorite restaurant. If you give yourself goals and rewards when you reach these goals, your fitness journey will be much more effective. You deserve it!
Last, but not least, listen your body! If your body is telling you to slow down or that you need to take a chill, then do it. Chances are you need to relax and take a step back. Remember, you won’t achieve your fitness goals overnight. Take it at a nice and slow pace, your body needs time to adjust to your new routine.
