Everyone dreams to travel, to escape the realities of their career. But everyone dreads packing, because no one knows what to bring on vacation, especially for their travel bag. For this reason, we have come up with 5 easy packing tips for your Carry-On luggage.
The first easy packing tip is to identify how you are traveling to your destination, and for how long. Are you driving, taking the train, or traveling by airplane. By identifying the mode of transportation, you will have a general idea of what you need to pack. For instance, if I am driving with someone, I will bring a game and music with me so we can enjoy the road trip together. However, if I am taking the train or plane for more than 4 hours, I will bring a book or my laptop to pass the time. This also helps with identifying what type of carry-on luggage you take, as airplanes have a size-limit to what you can carry with you.
In today’s age, we have so many technological devices which we want to bring with us when we travel. An easy packing tip is to see which of the devices are nothing like each other. For instance, I have an iPad, Macbook air, iPhone and a DSLR camera. I will choose between the iPad and the Macbook Air because they have the same features, just different sizes. Depending on the amount of room I have in my bag, I might even choose between my iPhone and my DSLR camera, as some phone cameras have great picture quality. Another benefit of merging devices is you won’t have to carry many chargers with you as well.
Another easy packing tip is to pack a pair of comfy clothes, if you are not going to wear them while traveling. There is a saying that if you dress formally when you get to the airport, there is a possibility you can be bumped to First Class if there is free space. That’s great! But if you don’t get upgraded, you do not want to be stuck in uncomfortable clothes for an entire flight or train ride. How can you pack an entire outfit? There are a few ways: first, to roll them as if you were rolling a sushi roll, and sticking them in your bag. The second way is to wrap your technology in them. This way, you can also ensure your laptop or tablet is protected.
A passport holder is the not only the #1 easy packing tip I can provide, but also the most fun one. Today, there are so many cute passport holders you can buy online or in store. They are extremely portable as they come in all shapes and sizes. Passport holders are amazing for keeping all of your documents in one place, just in case you lose phone service or can’t turn your phone on due to a dead battery. They can even double as a travel wallet depending on the style you purchase.
The final easy packing tip of course has to be related to the Carry-On luggage itself. I travel a lot, and the one tip I have learned is to buy a bag that is extremely durable and can have multiple uses. For instance, depending on the length of your trip, you could also use your carry-on luggage as the bag you bring on city tours. Another benefit is for a bag to have adjustable or detachable straps. In this case, you could adjust the straps to suit a cross-body use or to swing over your shoulder. We all want that cute instagram photo, but when it comes to traveling it is best to choose the option that you can get more bang for your buck.
