10 Easy Hannukah Recipes That Are Nothing But Basic

Looking for a dish to make for Hanukkah? Look no further! There are many, many mouthwatering dishes to make, from jelly donuts to challah rolls. You can also create a twist on an all-time classic by making jalapeno latkes. Celebrate Hanukkah with these festive and incredibly easy Hannukah recipes!

1. Beef Brisket

Leave an everlasting impression on friends and family by making beef brisket. Use an oven roasting bag to guarantee the most tenderest meat. Also, you can easily reheat any leftovers; just refrigerate the cooked brisket in the braising liquid overnight.

2. Potato Jalapeño Latkes

Latkes are a must when celebrating Hanukkah but you can always spice up an old classic. Use jalapenos to add a kick. Serve horseradish crema on the side for extra tanginess.

3. Hanukkah Honey Cookies

These cookies are both equally beautiful and delicious. You can either cut these cookies freehand or use a cookie cutter. Be creative with the frosting as well!

4. Sufganiyot

This deep-fried holiday delicacy commemorates the miracle of the burning oil lamps in the Temple in Jerusalem. The jelly filling is a hidden surprise. Oh and they are certainly addictive.

5. Matzo Spinach Lasagna

If you have any leftover matzo sheets, what is better than making lasagna out of it? This comforting and hearty dish will certainly have everyone’s attention. To make lasagna more splendid, add spinach, which complements the ricotta cheese. Get the recipe here.

6. Cinnamon Apple Kugel

This sweet, dairy-free dish can be eaten at any time, including breakfast. Kugel is not known for being the healthiest dish in the world so to make a healthier version of it, make sure to use whole grain noodles instead of egg noodles, ditch the bread crumbs, and swap sweetened applesauce with natural, unsweetened applesauce. Get the recipe here.

7. Challah Rolls

Any kind of braided bread is intimidating to make – especially when some of us cannot even do a simple braid in our hair. To spare yourself from any trouble, give this holiday bread a fresh new twist by making it into rolls. These rolls are also perfect to pair with beef brisket.

8. Zucchini Latkes

Like how earlier it was mentioned that jalapeñoes can give latkes a kick, zucchini also does the job just as well. Serve with either sour cream or cottage cheese. Get the recipe here.

9. Raspberry and Apricot Rugelach

The divine combination of raspberry preserves and dried apricots add an extra dose of sweetness to this beloved pastry. As a tip, to prevent the sticky filling from getting everywhere, layer the pan with parchment for easier cleanup and removal. Get the recipe here.

10. Matzo Ball Soup

Though Matzo ball soup is usually a staple of Passover feasts, it is also a favorite dish for Hanukkah as well. This soup is extremely simple to make. All you need is Matzah meal, eggs, veggies, broth, and seasonings. When making the balls, use a mixture of baking powder and seltzer, or if you prefer more light and fluffy balls, use baking powder and whipped egg whites.
