5 Easy Halloween Costumes for the Lazy Girl
As a self-proclaimed lazy girl, Halloween costumes are not something I like to think about. It just seems like so much effort, however, there are some simple costumes that take minimal effort to pull off!
1. Hooter’s Girl
The image of comfort and sex appeal is perfectly balanced in the Hooter’s girl Halloween costume. This is a great basic costume for a girl looking for a no-fuss but bold look to rock. The outfit itself is comprised of a few very simple elements, but somehow when all of these fashion pieces come together, something iconic is born. The stretchy yet fitted white tank top with the Hooters logo screen printed on it, classic and comfy orange short-shorts, white tube socks paired with white sneakers, and you just simply cannot forget the tan pantyhose! All of these items are easy to find either online or in-store and will allow you to take awesome pictures for your social media as well as doubles as a sexy loungewear outfit to stuff your face with your favorite Halloween candy. If you are in the market for a very last-minute costume, a plain white tank and orange pair of Soffe shorts will also do the trick. The color pallet and clothing combination is so recognizable that you do not have to try that hard to pull off this look!
2. Lara Jean Covey
If comfort is of the highest priority for you and you are looking for more flirty and girly Halloween costumes, Lara Jean Covey from the book series and Netflix movies, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, offers you several adorable options! Lara Jean wears an assortment of incredibly cute outfits throughout the films that showcase her personality and generally sweet demeanor. Since there are two films, there are a lot of outfits to pull inspiration from for this particular Halloween costume! Whether you are a skirt-wearer, love a good flannel shirt layered over a basic blacktop, or a powerful pair of boots and a frilly dress, there is surely something that will tickle your fancy. Lara Jean is especially known for her sweater and skirt combination, making these outfits perfect for the fall weather that October brings and you are sure to be able to find items within your wardrobe that ooze Lara Jean Covey energy. This costume is ideal if you are running errands or just out and about on Halloween and looking for a more subtle costume!
3. Sexy Vampire
Bringing it back to one of the classic Halloween costumes that we all know and love, we have the sexy vampire option. Whether you are a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Vampire Diaries, Twilight, a more traditional story such as Dracula, or any of the other various books and movies portraying this blood-sucking species, this costume is super fun and most importantly really easy to put together. There are several ways to go about personalizing this costume and making it your own, but the key component is, of course, the blood dripping from the side of your mouth and the vampire fangs which are very cheap and can be found on Amazon or wherever you get your Halloween costumes. Beyond that, the outfit is totally up to you, though I would stick to a darker color pallet for this costume, mostly black and red shades, like a nice burgundy pop of color. If you are going for a Vampire Diaries look specifically, wear your signature pair of black jeans, a simple top such as a long-sleeved fitted top, a pair of heeled booties, and of course a cool, leather jacket to top it all off. Depending on which character you are pulling inspiration from, the accessory options are endless. If you are dressing up as Elena Gilbert, for example, a statement silver necklace and dangly earrings are a must! This costume is effortlessly cool and will ensure that you slay all night long, or just until you cannot stand to be in jeans any longer.
4. Cottagecore Taylor Swift
Now unless you are living under a rock, you would know that Taylor Swift dropped a new album entitled Folklore on July 24th. This album took a detour from her Lover era which was incredibly colorful and whimsical and gave all of her fans the fall vibes with her woodsy aesthetic. The visuals for this album involve a lot of soft knitted items such as cardigans and frilly dresses with brown boots. This has spurred on a new aesthetic called “cottagecore”, which is basically clothing that you would wear in a cottage. These looks would make such fun and relaxed Halloween costumes! A neutral-colored cardigan or sweater over a beige, bohemian dress is just one of many possible costumes that you could create from Taylor Swift’s newest era.
5. Dani from Hocus Pocus
If you are a 90’s kid like me, then you most likely watch Hocus Pocus every single October to celebrate Halloween. It is such a classic film that just oozes nostalgia! There are so many characters that you could use as inspiration for Halloween costumes, but someone that I have always wanted to dress up as is Dani. Her witch costume in the movie is more accessible and comfortable than let’s say one of the Sanderson sisters, but is still very festive! There are full costumes available for purchase online if you are not into creating your own costume, however, this costume can be made with items from your closet as well as a simple Amazon order for things such as the witch hat that you may not already own. A black and orange mini-skirt, black long-sleeved shirt underneath a patterned orange shirt preferably with a sun on it for accuracy, a black scarf, tights, and a simple pair of black boots are sure to make you look just like darling Dani!
