12 Easy Hairstyles For Your Rushed Mornings

There is nothing worse than being in a rush in the morning to only look in the mirror and see that your hair is either a mess or looking too blah to leave alone. As someone with naturally curly hair, I have learned over the years that having some go-to quick and easy hairstyles in my arsenal is a good idea, especially for busy mornings (or more likely, when I am running late!) Skip the borning low pony and a messy bun and step up your easy hairstyle game. If you need some ideas on how to make your hair look great when you are in a rush, check out these 12 hairstyles!

1. Top Knots

While your life may revolve around a messy bun, try to make it look a little more polished with a top knot! In order to ace this look, position the bun at the top-most part of your head before starting the bun. Keep it less messy by circling the hair before tying it or try a braid. Always remember to fluff it up once it’s set so it isn’t too tight looking and pull some loose pieces down around the face and you’re all set!

2. Twisted Back Sides

This is one of my absolute favorite hairstyles no matter how much time I have to do my hair. I think it’s perfect since no matter what level of curl or mess the rest of my hair looks, twisting the sides back and securing them always makes the curl or wave look purposeful. Even if you have straight hair, twisting the sides back gives your look a little something extra while being super easy to do! Depending on the length of your hair, you can use bobby pins to secure, a clip or a rubber band!

3. High Pony With Scarf

If you haven’t jumped on the hair scarf trend, what are you waiting for? It instantly makes any outfit or hairstyle look a little chicer and it’s so easy to just add it to a high pony! Pick a scarf out that either perfectly matches your outfit or make it pop with a contrasting color or pattern and simply tie around your pony (or top knot!)

4. Milkmaid Braids

These braids have remained popular for several years now and with how easy it is to do, I can see why. There are many different ways to do this, using whatever kind of braids you prefer but the basic idea is to do two braids on either side and then wrap! If your hair is shorter or you want to keep some of your hair down, you can always make it a half-up do, pulling small sections next to the ear, braiding and crossing it over!

5. Braided Bun

This hairstyle will wake you up and give you a chic look all at once! Flip your head over and french braid starting at the nape of your neck, stopping where you want the bun to be. Then, gather up the rest of your hair and put it into a messy bun or top knot. It will look simple from the front but have an interesting detail in the back!

6. Half-Up Top Knot

I have had my hair in various lengths but for the most part it is usually at or above my shoulder making a smooth top knot impossible. That is where the half-up top knot came into play. I like having my hair out of my face during the day and this is a great way to do it while still getting in on the top knot trend. Just like with the regular top knot, you can do a braided bun or a twisted one and it will look like you spent some time on your hair when in reality it only took a few minutes!

7. Tuck And Cover

This hairstyle is great for gals with longer hair and it is a great way to show off a scarf for headband while still keeping your hair up! Put the headband down over your head, over your hair. Then, wrap sections moving towards the back. Finally, tuck the remaining hair in, forming a chignon. The best part of this look is when you let your hair down, you will have some non-heat curls!

8. Pompadour

If you want to get your bangs up out of your face, this is an easy and quick style! Simply gather a small front section, gently tease and pull slightly back before clipping or pinning in place forming a small poof. This hairstyle looks great with your hair down or added into a high pony! It’s a great look especially because it works with any hair length!

9. Pulled Through Pony

This will bring you back to your childhood a little but it is a great way to dress up a plain low ponytail! Gather your hair into a low pony and tie. Then, pull the rubber band away from the head, just enough to flip the ponytail through the opening before tightening. You can do this with just one pass through or with several, either way, it looks chic and makes your hair look a touch fancier.

10. Low Bun

While a low messy bun can be a boring go-to hairstyle, don’t forget that you can easily spice it up! Twist your sides back before putting it into a bun to add some interest to the front of your hair. Or, you can french braid or dutch braid the side or sides back into the bun-just remember to pancake the braid before securing!

11. Side Braid

Again, this is a great choice for people with longer hair and it can’t get any easier! Simply pull all your hair to one side and do a simple braid and pancake it before tying it off and you’re done! If you want to dress it up, pull some loose hair down in front or try a fancier braid like a fishtail!

12. Dad Hat

Finally, if your hair is a hopeless mess or you have to leave your house like, right this minute, there is no shame in the hat game. If your vibe is casual, there are endless amounts of embroidered dad hats to choose from, but keep a fancier looking one in velvet or leather on hand in case you need to dress the look up. Throw it on with your hair down or a low pony and run out the door!
