Easy Beauty Products for a Quick Makeup Routine

Doing your makeup when you’re older has become a chore. Don’t you always just wish that you could snap your fingers and have a full face done so you can head out for the night? Same, so here are some beauty products to speed up that makeup routine.

1. CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion

Before you start your routine, it is so important to use a good moisturizer to lock in your makeup. Mixing your moisturizer or primer with a radiance-boosting serum is also a great way to create a natural-looking base glow for your makeup look. CeraVe has skyrocketed in popularity over quarantine for their gentle face products that don’t make you look oily, which is also super important during the summer when your skin is more prone to sweat and oil buildup. Grabbing an unscented moisturizer directed towards combination skin is the best way to start your routine and make your makeup look super smooth.

2. Revolution Poreless Primer

Revolution is one of my favorite makeup brands lately because they sell high-end products for lower prices. Since they are also rising in popularity, you can find Revolution at drugstores, Target and Ulta, making it super easy for you to pick up one of their products. I got into Revolution by using their Blur Stick, which is a matte poreless primer that literally makes your skin look as smooth as porcelain after using it. The poreless primer that comes in a tube is just as effective and is a key to your amazing makeup look.

3. Radiance Boosting Serum

A serum like this one has a natural sheen to it that you can apply after mixing with your moisturizer or after putting a primer on. After you apply this serum to your face, you continue with foundation as normal but you will notice a subtle glow throughout your skin. It will give you a glow that looks like you just spent the day on the beach but no one will know it’s just a part of your makeup routine now. Getting a natural glow going on with your makeup is really easy to achieve and will get you tons of compliments on your skin (which we all love).

4. Dior Airflash Foundation

The Dior foundation is now a staple in my makeup bag simply because of how easy it is to use and how amazing the product is in general. This foundation is a God-sent product because it resembles a can of spray paint. It makes application that much easier and gives off a perfect mix of dewy and matte, leading it to be my absolute favorite foundation in the world. I waste so much less product when I can apply it directly to my face with a few sprays instead of pouring a random amount on the back of my hand and hoping for the best. Although on the pricier side, it is 10000% worth the splurge because it gives off a beautiful finish and has a wide range of colors that you can easily match your skin tone with.

5. e.l.f Camo Concealer

A dupe for Tarte’s famous Shape Tape concealer, the e.l.f concealer is equally as full coverage and a fraction of the price. This concealer is thick, so you don’t need to apply a lot to get a good amount of coverage. You don’t need to use a ton of product with this, so it will last you a long time and you will get your money’s worth. The only downfall with such a product is that matching your shade can be a bit tricky. I always use the back of my hand as a good reference as to what my actual shade would be because I am pretty sure I heard that somewhere but have no credibility to back it up.

6. Maybelline Concealer/Contour

A hack that I’ve been loving with my makeup recently is using a darker shade of concealer for my contour. I found that using a product as thick as a concealer as a contour method is easy for the summer because it has more of a chance to stay on my face when I inevitably sweat or produce extra oil that normally would melt my makeup. So, do yourself a favor and invest in a concealer that feels a bit weird buying when it’s so clearly not your shade. I also am a fan of doing my concealer and contour at the same time so I can really feel like an artist blending in all of the makeup.

7. Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter

I’ve written about this makeup product before so you should know how serious I am about it. I put this on right before I use foundation and then blend it all together. It gives me that extra glow I so desperately crave but doesn’t make me look overly shiny or like I just threw makeup on before I ran a marathon. I saw on TikTok that professional makeup artists use it on celebrities before they go on the red carpet, so why wouldn’t you buy it just off of that information alone? Exactly, this product is tried and true for everyone. Feel like the red carpet has been rolled out for your arrival and glow like it’s your job.

8. e.l.f Coconut Setting Spray

This setting spray sends me right to the beach with a pina colada in my hand. It is super light and smells like coconuts so I don’t see how you could ever go wrong. I like to set my makeup a few times throughout the process: after I set my foundation after I contour and conceal and then once when I’m completely finished with my routine. Since I’ve gotten my makeup routine down to only ten minutes, a setting spray is necessary to lock all of that hard work in for the night. You don’t need to break the bank on a setting spray, however, because the formulas are all similar so you will be wasting money on a makeup product you don’t need to splurge on.

9. Urban Decay Stoned Vibes Palette

I bought this palette a few months back and it is honestly my favorite. I always get compliments because their jewel-toned eyeshadows are unmatched and last forever. There is a glitter option that complements every eye color, for me, with brown eyes they offer two beautiful purple hues that make my eyes pop. I am also a fan of the Opal Aura color, which has opal and silver tones and looks great on anyone. If you are feeling creative, then the eyeshadow glitters can also be used as highlighter to complete a more festive look. I used the green for my highlight on St. Patrick’s Day and it worked like a literal charm, so get crafty with this makeup palette because it’s amazing.
