10 Easy And Delicious Dishes For First Time Cooks

Delicious dishes seem like an impossibility when you are a first time cook. Whether you are living in a new apartment or simply trying out cooking for the first there are dishes that can help you get started. When you’re used to buying food outside or having someone prepare you a meal, it becomes more of an overwhelming task but it does not have to be this way.

Remember that preparing meals is only a matter of having the right ingredients and following instructions correctly. If you are a visual learner I would recommend watching a few tutorials to help you understand the whole cooking process. Or you can find a friend to help you with the cooking process if necessary.

When trying to find what dishes are the best choices to cook, I would recommend trying to find dishes that appeal to you. Simply make sure that you are passionate about the food you are going to prepare.

1. Waldorf Style Chicken Salad

Salads are healthy and delicious plates to prepare because it’s simple to prepare. This salad has plenty of nutrients such as walnuts, cranberries, celery, and nonfat greek yogurt. Salad are practical and a great way to get all the protein and food you need to be energized throughout the day.


2. Beef and broccoli

Try to pair up meat with a vegetable such as beef and broccoli. This dishes is relatively easy to cook once you get the measurement of the sauces right. Meat is one of the hardest things to cook but once you get experience with it you will soon be on your way to becoming a pro. It is really is just a matter of time management and seasoning. Make sure the meat is cooked right and that enough seasoning is added so as to add flavor to it.

3. Tuna Avocado Wrap

I absolutely love tuna and avocado and if I can find a dishes that has both them that would be perfect. My go to food is tuna because it’s easy to prepare and healthy. I eat avocado with everything whether it’s on toasted bread or on pizza, there’s always time for avocado.


4. Mac’n’Cheese with Chicken and Broccoli

Everybody live macaroni and cheese because it is super easy to prepare. You can spice up your macaroni and cheese by adding  chicken and broccoli to it. With chicken and broccoli your macaroni and cheese becomes a bigger dish that is even tastier.

5. Lo Mein

Take a little bit of a risk and try preparing this Asian noodle stir fry. This dish is perfect because it contains vegetables and it forces you to be creative. Finishing a dish of Lo Mein will leave you feeling proud of yourself and more confident in your own cooking skills.

6. Chicken Tostadas

If you like Mexican food then you’ll love chicken tostadas. These tostadas are delicious and you can pretty much anything you’d like in them as far as vegetables go. If you’d like to get traditional and really learn how to make tostadas from scratch then you can learn to make your own tortillas. However, you don’t have to you can just buy already made tortillas or tostadas to make things easier.

7. Buffalo Chicken Tacos

I don’t know about you but buffalo chicken sauce is awesome. Tacos are always a good idea because of the amount of flavor in them. Once you try buffalo chicken tacos you will want to try them again.

8. Garlic Roasted Vegetable Pasta

I personally love anything that has garlic in it. This dish will give you a good amount of flavors with pasta that is very easy to prepare.

9. Vegetable Stir-Fry

Vegetable stir-fry a great dish to get your healthy amount of vegetables and rice. You will be eating vegetables but will not feel like it.

10. Chickpea Spinach Salad

You need to have healthy dishes incorporated in the daily food that you consume. This does not mean you have to give up eating meat forever but you can start by changing your eating diet little by little. Chickpeas are great because the flavor is so rich you will not feel the need to eat meat as much.
