Easiest Ways to Accessorize Your Looks

Everyone wants to accessorize their outfits, but sometimes it’s really hard to choose which accessories go best with what look. Sometimes you don’t even know where to begin when it comes to accessorizing. The fun part about making an outfit is adding the little accessories to really give your look the finishing touches it needs. Sometimes it’s as simple as adding little pins to your jacket or wearing layered belts. When you accessorize, you are making the outfit a look all your own. It’s the little details that make a look totally you!

1. Enamel Pins

If you’re like me, you have a hoard of enamel pins that you continuously buy on Etsy that you keep in a box somewhere, never seeing the light. I could never find ways to use them and was worried I wasted my money. After doing my own research, I found a few ways to show off my pretty enamel pins and finally feel like they are being used.

2. Jean Jacket

Just stick enamel pins onto the pockets of your jean jacket! This way, you can have themed jackets or even match them to how your outfit is looking that day. I love putting my enamel pins on my jean jacket because it’s a fun and unique way to accessorize my outfit without making such big changes. They always match perfectly to my looks. You could also get creative with iron-on patches or painting on your own designs.

3. Hat

Hats are a great way to accessorize your outfit because there are so many different kinds of hats for different looks. You can wear a beanie or a baseball cap for a more casual look. A beret or bowler cap can be used when your outfit calls for something a little fancier. Sun hats are the perfect addition to any sundress or beach outfit. Hats are always a great way to cover up a bad hair day, which we all have had. With endless hats, you’ll be set on accessories for any look. Enamel pins on your hat are another way to use your enamel pins while making your hat look unique to you! You can stick enamel pins in your beanie or baseball cap. There are so many different kinds of enamel that you will always match your interests or personality.

4. Bags

A Japanese bag called an Ita bag with a small window at the front of the back. In this window is a pocket where you can display pins and charms. It’s the perfect bag to show off your enamel pins and accessorize your bag at the same time!

5. Hair

Styling your hair can ultimately be your greatest accessory. No look has competed without done up hair. It’s super easy to just throw on a cap and leave or even just clipping your hair up. Accessorizing your hair is a fun way to get creative with your looks, and you know that when your hair looks good, you’re going to feel good.

6. Headbands

I use the term loosely because you can use so many different kinds of headbands for your outfits. Use the basic headband for a more preppy look, such as a turtleneck and miniskirt. Another kind of headband is to use a bandanna by folding it to one line and tying it up. You could also just fold the bandanna in half and just wear it as a headscarf. Bandannas are really cute to use because they are affordable, and you can find them in so many different colors and styles.

7. Jewelry

You will find a new trend being layered on jewelry. One common style is by layering necklaces over one and other that are all different lengths. You will wear a choker and find chains of different lengths that match the style of the choker. Another way to layer your jewelry is by getting multiple piercings on your ear. Lately, the newest trend is to have multiple ear piercings so you can wear many different kinds of earrings on each ear. This way, you have a more mismatched look to you, but you can accessorize it to fit your outfit.

8. Belts

This one is a bit more simple and at times, it more for looks than functionality. To accessorize this look, you take a regular belt and put it on as you would normally. Then you take a belt with a looser fit and just attach it to your waist, so it slopes more than your regular belt. From there, you could add some chains or even more belts!

9. Earrings

I feel like every time I open Etsy, I see a new shop opening up for custom made earrings. I think it’s great that people take the initiative and make a name for themselves selling products they love. You can make your own earrings too! I’ve earrings made out of almost anything from little toys to tiny figures and even resin flowers. DIY earrings are such a great way to accessorize because you’ll be able to make any kind of earrings for all of your outfits. Just by looking at online tutorials, you could be creating your own earrings. Then you’ll be able to accessorize with your own homemade jewelry!

10. Necklaces

Jewelry making kits are super inexpensive online, and when you go to crafts stores, you’ll be able to find so many charms. Making a necklace is as easy as having a string and charms. Once you get the hang of creating your own necklaces, you may never want to buy new ones again. It’s always rewarding to be able to wear something that you made proudly. Especially when you get to accessorize with your newly created necklaces.
