10 Drool-Worthy Mug Cake Recipes You Can Make In Your Dorm

Four letters. Say them and i’m forever yours…CAKE. We all love cake, but it isn’t exactly easy to whip up when you don’t have an oven, or mixing bowls, or even a place to make it for that matter… or so you thought! Introducing to you the mug cake! That’s right, you can make your very own personal cake right in an everyday coffee mug. The best part is that its easy enough to make in a dorm room as long as you have a utensil, some measuring spoons, and a microwave! Here are some of the most mouth-watering mug cake recipes out there!

1. Gooey Chocolate Mug Cake

This one is for you chocoholics out there.

What you’ll need:

  • One Egg
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder

All you need to do is combine all your ingredients together in a mug and mix it until blended evenly! Then, simply pop the mug into a microwave for a minute and voila! Chocolate cake!

2. Nutella Mug Cake

Because who can say no to Nutella?

What you’ll need:

  • 1/4 Cup Nutella
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Dutch Processed Cocoa Powder

Again, combine all your ingredients into a mug and mix until completely blended! Then, microwave your ensemble for about 1:10 seconds. Take it out of the microwave and let it sit for 10 minutes. Finally, enjoy!

3. Peanut Butter Mug Cake

What you’ll need:

  • 3 Tbsp. Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Granulated sugar + 1 Tsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg

You guessed it! Mix all your ingredients together in a mug and microwave for 1 minute. Let cool for 5 minutes before eating!

4. Chocolate Raspberry Mug Cake

This one has raspberries so maybe its healthy…right…right?

What you’ll need:

  • One small banana (The riper the better)
  • One small egg
  • 2 Tbsp. Dark Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Frozen Raspberries

Grease your mug!! Mash up the banana, then add the egg and cocoa powder. Mix until they’re all evenly blended together. Add the raspberries and try to push them all towards the center! Microwave for one minute and let cool until firm.

5. Healthy Banana Bread Mug Cake

This s**t is bananas, B.A.N.A.N.A.S

What you’ll need:

  • 2 Tbsp. Coconut Flour
  • 1/4 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 2 Tsp. Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Almond Milk
  • 1/2 Ripe Banana
  • 1 Tbsp. Nut Butter
  • Optional Chocolate Chips

Mix together coconut flour and baking powder to your mug. Add in brown sugar and milk until clump free! Add mashed banana and nut butter and mix everything together. Microwave for 2.5 minutes and enjoy!

  • 3 Tbsp. White Cake mix
  • 1 Tbsp. Pumpkin Puree
  • 1 Tbsp. Water
  • 1/2 Tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice

What you’ll need:

  • 1/4 Cup Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 3 Tbsp. Milk
  • 4 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1/4 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Oreo Cookies

Melt together chocolate chips and milk in a mug for 30-40 seconds and whisk thoroughly. Then, stir in the rest of your ingredients; be sure to crush the Oreos before they’re added! Microwave for one minute~Enjoy.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 2 Tbsp. Honey
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Tbsp. Light Brown Sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. Self-Rising Flour
  • Pinch of Salt

Melt the butter in your mug for 10-20 seconds. Combine honey, egg, and vanilla, beating it with a fork. Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds and let cool! Enjoy!

10. French Toast Mug Cake

What you’ll need:

  • 2 Slices of White Bread
  • 1/4 Cup of Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tsp. Sugar
  • 1/4 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Tsp. Vanilla Extract

Grease your mug with a little bit of butter and add the egg, cinnamon, milk, and vanilla. Beat this all together. Add your bread, make sure you push it into the egg mixture and don’t just place it on top! Microwave for around one minute and thirty seconds and enjoy!
